hey! i didn't mean to take so long to make one of these, but work got crazy busy this week and i am the worst. so let's do this now! this is luken etxarte, older brother of ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) etxarte and personal guard of calpurnia. whereas his brother gets to guard the fun royal, his duty is largely to keep calpurnia from being slapped by disgruntled courtiers and keep her from getting hold of any sharp objects. he is a charming enough fellow who might strike some as lazy, but he's also keenly observant and has ambitions beyond royal babysitting. you can find a bit more information here, but if you have any questions, let me know.
i could use all kinds of lines, so throw all of your characters at me! especially if they ever spend time in nova sanco. he could use friends both in high and low places, familiar faces at court, those who knew him when he was young (aka fellow old fogies like him) and before his accident, members of his deceased wife's family, etc.

Hey everyone! I just applied Mathyn and while I'm crossing my fingers and hoping to be accepted, I figured I'd give him a bit of intro here! Mathyn here is an elf cleric who's pretty much obsessed with exploration, gardening, and healing others. He's quite charitable and it isn't hard to convince him to wave whatever set prices he has for his potions and remedies for illnesses. He currently goes back and forth between Elynost Forest and Tal'Anorath, mostly because he loves the differences of culture in both areas. I have him set as neutral good which means he's constantly going to be giving unwanted advice, nitpicking at all of your characters to sleep more and live healthier, and taking on the mother hen role to make sure everyone is happy and taken care of. You can usually find him in the forest working on his garden and talking to his favorite little doe, Amra, or he's in the library reading up on everything he can get his hands on. I'm up for all kinds of lines and interactions, and I hope we get some fun things started!

Hey there, I thought I would do a short intro here and beg for some lines before he is hopefully accepted! Aspen Mccullen is a physician who has just finished medical school and is not doing his internship on board, well before the crash he did that anyway.. ;) He's only 27, so people does not tend to take him seriously as a physician, but if you give him a chance you would notice how competent he really is. Aspen tend to be a little awkward and shy outside his medical role, but as physician he is very calm and outgoing. Known to be a good listener, who always puts other people before himself and live to help those who needs it. In a group he tends to keep on the outside, as a listener before he steps in and speak his mind.
Anyway, hopefully Aspen will be welcomed and I've very excited to play with you guys! If you have lines you think he can fill, just ask!

excuse the late intro! so this is hollis van wyk, armory officer of the astraeus security team, and master sergeant in the marines. she comes from humble beginnings on a farm on penglai, where she got pregnant and married too young, then divorced within a few short years and enlisted with the adf. during her long 20-something year career, hollis earned a reputation as a reliable (perhaps even ruthless) soldier who follows orders and always gets the job done--definitely a renegon shepard, if you will. she's not without regrets about her choices or service history, but hollis is pretty reserved, and prefers to maintain a professional distance from most of her colleagues, with a handful of exceptions. she's usually regarded as a hardass with a resting bitch face; most people have never seen her smile and are not entirely sure it's even physically possible. while she'd never admit to it, she has a fierce #space mama bear side, and genuinely cares about the well-being of the crew in her charge. all she wants to do is get everyone home safe and sound.
though she's a bit stranded at the present, i'd be happy to figure out any and all lines with everyone! hollis has a few connections so far, but i'm game for almost anything you can think of.

Hello! I'm coming your way with Cate Delgado, a member of the security team for Astraeus. She's one of the guards and would probably best function as a body guard/rank and file/prison transport sort of role. She's a former pro boxer and joined Project Astraeus just as her personal life began to fall apart. She's someone that responds very well to military style discipline and orderliness, so the training camps and assessment period appealed to her immensely. She's not someone that you're going to find leading a charge unless there's no one else around to do it, and she won't defy orders unless they're undeniably not morally sound. She favors practical solutions and action over introspection, and therefor tends to resolve interpersonal conflict by bulldozing into it. If someone were to accuse her of being very tightly wound, they would not be incorrect. That being said, she does have a dry, sarcastic sense of humor, and has been known to deliver bone dry quips with a straight face.
I'm excited to dive in and get to write with all of you, and I'd love to figure out lines of all kinds! Especially ones that will challenge her boundaries and push her outside her comfort zone. You know, even more so than crash landing on an alien planet that has magic and dragons.

I’m still doing some fine tuning on his survey until it reads just right to me, but I figure I have him formed enough to at least track down some lines. This is Marcus Zhao, security guard for the Astraeus and somewhat of an Infiltrator type, so if you’re thinking stealth, espionage, thief/assassin, you’re probably on the right track. He was born and raised on Eden and eventually took his outside training in martial arts to the military which, ultimately, landed him on the Astraeus since he didn’t want to go back to some humdrum life on Eden. He is quiet in that studious sort of way, extremely private when it comes to his personal life and does have a somewhat resting bitch face, but it is a good face to have when you’re playing security guard (or poker).
Given he is brand spanking new, he doesn’t have any lines set in stone, so I’d love to get some set up for him – fellow security detail and connections to the rest of the Astraeus crew, a close friend or two who can get past the serious exterior, training buddies, anyone he can cross paths with planet-side, etc., etc. I’m really open to figuring anything out.

Hello, this is rpms and wooderlander dragging in one final character. Yes, final because three is a damn good number. I just wanted to post here and hopefully establish some lines as I hash this little cinnamon roll out.
Benjamin Bennett is a bespectacled, nerdy Chemist for the Astraeus. Before the Astraeus he lived a comfortable life on Eden, nothing noteworthy. I've yet to delve any deeper into his history, and where he's previously worked before Project Astraeus, though. He's a big goofball, and sometimes a klutz. Benji can sometimes find himself in awkward situations, and not knowing how to smoothly get himself out. He's a perfectionist to a fault, and can be extremely private. He's your, "Don't touch the th- oh, you touched the thing" kind of guy.
He pretty much needs anything and everything. A best gal pal or someone who's his assistant, and they accidentally blow things up sometimes because they're both just overly enthusiastic about their jobs. People who intimidate him, someone who gets him tripping over his words. He'd like other nerd friends to geek out with. Terociel natives to think he's the best dang alchemist they've met in a really, really long time! You want to kidnap him? Go right ahead! If you have an idea for him and your character that I haven't listed don't be scared to share. I am super flexible, and collaborating is my jam.

heyyy! i'm a big newb to this place, but i wanted to do one of these while i try to get a feel for her since i still have some directions i'm toying with. this is gwenäelle. she's an elf/human hybrid who has been a misfit for the majority of her life. it's okay, she likes it that way for the most part. her upbringing is a little murky, as in i don't have anything specific there yet.
more recently, she's been confined to her small farm somewhere remotely with a few other females. it's a very girl-power like environment that she takes care of with all that she is. while it's not much, it's her home. for a long time, she was part of the traveling do-gooder party alongside sonnetist and other members who are up for grabs. her specialty is primarily hunting and tracking. she's an impeccable shot with a bow and relatively impressive with other kinds of weaponry. her persona is generally much softer than she appears, but only once you get to know her. to outsiders, she can appear cold and often times intimidating. she takes care of hers by any means necessary, though is also mostly level-headed.
like i said, she's still a heavy work in progress. i'm SO open for suggestion on anything. let's do this!

hi, guys! so i guess i should do one of these before jumping in. i am bringing in a little old lady packaged in a sophie turner-looking package. if by "little old lady," i mean this little old lady. she is a high elf from tal'anorath, born to a very strict, unimpressed family that has been on the steady decline for the last few hundred years. as a result, her folks in particular are all about that elven glory. she hasn't had as much of that particularly brand of kool aid, having spent the last number of decades in the field and neck-deep in libraries devoting herself to the collection of elven history and knowledge, but she is definitely unimpressed with humans. her personality is very cold, disciplined, thick-skinned, and proud. she would rather be honest than polite, and as a result, she is not the most likeable creature. if she has a sense of humor, she would be loath to admit it.
what a joy, right?? i'm much friendlier, i promise. i'd love all sorts of lines -- from antagonistic to friendly-ish! former elven students/mentors of hers would be ace, especially if they were willing to adventure with her; other elves for her to mother and tough-love; others she might have met on the road or in tal'anorath; a human or two to be exceptions to her rule of general dislike and maybe one for her to be in the debt of (ugh); fellow history-buffs for her to trade ideas with; etc.

okay! i've thought this guy up enough to introduce him briefly while i work on him :) hopefully i can get some lines organised for him.
this is joran evenstadsson, he's 36 years old, chaotic neutral and a norn warrior. as a person, joran can go either way between good, or bad, although i think he leans more towards bad/evil as far as his personality is concerned. he's calculating, thoughtful and moves with purpose, although he can be rather playful and friendly from time to time. currently (and if the mods allow it, of course!), joran's father is the leader of the norn people, and has been known to be quite the tyrant in terms of his leadership and how he sends raid parties out with joran usually being the forefront of the assault at his fathers behest. currently, there's talk amongst the people to end joran's fathers life, and no one knows where the rumors have spurred from, although many have pointed the finger at joran himself as being the one to start it. no one knows, though, of course.
as a warrior, he's spent his entire life fighting, and has a distinct distrust/disliking to the elves as most of the norn's tend to feel to some point, except he more has the taste of venom in his mouth more then others when he sees them or is around them. after losing two our of four brothers to fighting, joran is ridiculously protective of his two sisters, and genuinely doesn't think anyone is good enough for them, but he often also heads into trade zones were merchants and offers them protection, so it's not unlikely to see this large, tattooed guy lingering around and turning his nose up at 'knife ears' haha one thing i will say though is that those who show prowess in battle, and uphold wit and strength will earn his respect, regardless of his stance on their race or where they're from.

Hello all. I'm sure this isn't a shock as I've been completely absent for the lat 1.5 weeks and failed in epic style to get to plotting with any of you (apologies, it wasn't personal, everyone looks awesome!) but I'm going to have to duck out of the game. I thought I'd have more time. I really hoped I would! But life won't slow down enough to a decent amount of play till late Jan for me and I'd hate to hold up a position while dragging ass with logs.
I hope you'll have me back in Feb! Till then, kick butt and i hope it's a fantastic writing experience for all. <3

hey everyone. ~addair's player back again, formally introducing two characters, cause i was lazy and forgot to intro my last one.
first is my most recent entrant, ira talas, an elven warrior and sentinel from clan daoinedun. his clan is a lot smaller than it used to be, after the fire nation attacked human raiders attacked it about 45 years ago. naturally, he doesn't take kindly to humans ever since. so good luck if you're a human who crosses his path. he feels incredible guilt for having only been able to help his clan at the end of the attack, and it took up to 7 years ago for him to actually leave them to try and see the world, make some friends, kill some raiders, all that good stuff. he's a very quiet kinda guy, but he's pretty friendly if you're willing to put in the effort with him, and will go to incredible lengths to care for and protect those he cares about. he could use some other friends he refuses to call his friends because that means admitting he has feelings, travel buddies, some non-humans to hate humans with, maybe even some humans to try and show him that humans really aren't the scourge of the earth? no promises on how successful that might be, but worth a shot, right?
i also have ~amryss, whom i've thrown at a lot of you already, but just in case! she's the youngest daughter of house serran, the family that's been running gemela's crossing for generations. as far as most people know she's a low level mage who rarely uses her magic, but is an academic expert on magic (in an indiana jones kinda way). in truth, she's a necromancer, adventuring around, doing her necromancy thang. she travels around on and off with a shitton of people because she's a massive extrovert who loves making friends and doesn't know how to take 'no' for an answer. she grew up in gamela's crossing and nova sanco, and started traveling the countryside fully about 12 years ago. she could always use more friends, people who can't stand her, people who tried and failed to use to ladder climb, etc etc.

Here's a formal plot request now that she's in the game! Mel is on the nicer side, as opposed to Prisha who is feral cat levels of cuddly and Ulric who's like a cat in heat. I really like cats, okay? Her life had been relatively uneventful by fantasy standards; I would imagine. To a degree, she's my 'audience vehicle' character because of her sheltered nature. Spending years behind the counter of an item shop means there's a lot she either doesn't know or has only heard snips of, so I'll learn things at the same time she does. Neat!
As I mentioned before, she would've been willing to sell herbs, skins, produce and whatever else your characters wanted to leave behind for a reasonable display fee. I'd love to find her father's long-time assistant who assumed the shop would go to him but surprise! It didn't. Bitterness ensues. Maybe an innocent flirtation or two who caused her father's feathers to ruffle up? And class trainers! I've tentatively slated her as a mage, but I feel like she'd have tried different things before settling on what she knows. There is always time in my schedule for an 80s movie montage scene.

hi hi everyone! i'm so excited to see this community up and going after it was discussed. (hihihi to anyone i talked to under my journal ~argentdawn when this was being made c:)
buuutttt! (heh butt.. anyways), i have this cinnamon roll right here. now, please forgive me as i haven't got him down in full just yet since he's a new character, but i promise to at least give sommmeee details to try and get storylines with him so i can write with all of you c: he's a work in progress currently, so some minor details may change.
this is branwen fordragon. he's 126 years old, and is the product of two magical parents. one human necromancer, and one elven divine mage. he's a native to belamond where he can be seen consistently with his nose in a book, or his eyes glancing over a scroll or three since he loves to read and learn, but he's ridiculously optimistic and curious of the world around him while believing anyone and everything can be good, which also includes orcs, although he's not silly or naive and knows perfectly well that an orc could kill him, or seriously maim him if he's not careful. he's still quite young, and adventurous, wanting to learn absolutely everything he can, so i'm sure he would've been one of those inspecting the crash sight while being absolutely doe eyed and bewildered by the technology he comes across.
so. in saying all of that, can i interest anyone in a line for their hopeless romantic, adorable young adult, half-elven child? forgive me for this post. i've not slept in like.. two days (blasted insomnia!), but i'm so ready and keen for lines for him while i work on him x_x

okay, so I'm weaker than weak, and before I got any further on developing this guy, I thought I'd ask around and see if anyone needs/desires anything from a member of the royal guard of Belamond. Family wise, I'm open to anything, though House Etxarte is technically of elevated status. Not necessarily Noble with a capital N with significant land holdings, but ranked highly enough to serve the crown loyally. His father's Lord Steward to House Evenore, his mother was an actual lady knight of legendary badass status in her prime. Killed a legion of orcs with her bare hands, they still sing songs about her in taverns, kind of thing.
Garaile himself is at least second or third born in his family, so there's not that much at stake by assigning him to be the personal guard to corran, to eventually join the Kingsguard when he ascends the throne. Since he grew up around the royal family, it's only natural he'd tag along on the crown prince's adventures as an adult. There was an attempt at one point to turn him into a Paladin, but he wasn't exactly cut out for a life of pious devotion. For reasons tbd, still working that out, though it's entirely possible that he just doesn't have it into him to be a Holy Crusader. Generally a good guy, a little more level-headed than his liege, because someone has to be, though he would love to be the heroic dude to live up to his mama's legacy. Buuut that's just not in the cards for this permanent wingman.
so, y'know, hit me with them lines.

hello everyone! i figured now that this little spazzoid is in, i'd go ahead and toss one of these post up (even though i've plotted with some of you guys in ~pbads already).
this guy is elias brauner, though people know him best as just eli. he grew up on eden on a not-so fancy space age sort of orphanage, and has no idea who his parents are or what happened to them. he was always the awkward kid out since he was always very smart and had trouble relating to people because of it (and was picked on a ton because of it). this awkwardness carried over into his adult years and it's pretty much only been recently that he's discovered that not only is it possible for him to have real friends, it's actually kind of nice. somehow he managed to catch the attention of someone with some ties and influence to the ipa, and they arranged for him to attend one of the top universities on-planet. on the condition, of course, that he work in tangent with the ipa in their research. which he didn't mind at all since hey, they can fund all sorts of excursions. when it comes to his research, he is...well very enthusiastic. to the point where he gets so excited and focused on whatever project he's working on that he forgets everything. including personal safety since in that state of mind, it's obvious that he needs to get closer to the massive beast in order to get a better and more accurate look at it. never mind the fact that it can eat him. basically, he can be a huge spaz.
let's see...he's also friendly (so long as he's not in the middle of some project or some cool looking creature isn't in view, because that's when his brain-to-mouth filter completely breaks down) and is the kind of person who would do pretty much anything for one of his friends if he thought it would help or protect them (even if it's kind of stupid; think waving a flare in front of a t-rex stupid). generally, he's pretty harmless, though it'll be interesting to see what his new surroundings will do to him.
that was longer and more awkward than i'd hoped, but BRING IT ON.

This is forever and a day late, sorry! I'm Joss. Super muchly über tres excited to be here. All these characters look delightful. I have one accepted character to introduce, and another in the works because having an Astraeus and Terociel native seems to be very à la mode. Also because I'm greedy, LBR.
I have Jaime Sullivan here, Astraeus' Quartermaster and former ADF Navy. Most of the crew probably just know him as 'Sully.' He's a rough-n-tumble Belos kid, and has spent far too much effort distinguishing himself from the big chunk of his family who were proud GLF fighters. He's a pragmatist and still a bit of your standard jackboot, despite having been honorably discharged for injuries four years ago. The 'incident' earned him two metals and got him a fancy bionic knee, but also had him looking at a desk job for the rest of his life. Guess how fast he jumped at the opportunity to sign on with Astraeus? Nope. Faster.
He's fairly humble but more than a little stubborn (he'll insist he's not unreasonable if confronted, even if his ears turn a little red), a bit emotionally undemonstrative, but loyal and has a much better sense of humor than most would guess. Even if he's totally freaking out internally like the rest of 'em, he's got an immensely cool head under pressure.
Lines:
He needs people he knew from home, from ADF, the Abbott to his stuffy Costello from work in Scheria's shipyards, a Terocien(?) who fancies themselves a scientist who'd get a kick out of his bionics, a local on a well-meaning or noble quest he can get behind while trying to find his fellows (he'll never be able to say no to 'help us save the village of Whateversville from the Evil Wizard of Blarg!' lines), a noble for some hyuckster language barrier flubs. Are they quoting Chaucer or trying to communicate?" Possibly one saves the other from the fire swamp, where rodents of unusual size don't exist... and can call in favors as a result, much to the other's annoyance? Basically everything. Looking forward to writing!

So I should have done this roughly a zillion days ago. (Okay, like seven, but still.) Thanks to work + finals + an ill-timed winter cold I just, uh, didn't. All of these things are still a factor, so I'll be scarce this week, but while I have a break at work and am not studying frantically, I'll get this up to drag even more lines out of everyone. ♥ I've hit up some posts here and in ~pbads pretty sporadically - I'm that annoying kid who just won't shut up - but here you go anyway~
This is Surya Reeds, half-brother to rpms (but like don't call her his half-sister bc as far as he's concerned she's just his sister), and a botanist, or a geneticist with a side of botany, whichever you prefer. When he was younger, he was all set to inherit his father's ruthless opportunistic commercial empire but he got really tired of that. Leading to him basically telling his dad to fuck off, then going to study science.
Personality-wise, he's never been great at emoting and his father actively discouraged it, so he's better at looking and acting as if he has very few emotions. He's working on it, really he is, but sarcasm is his first language. Of course, you get him around his plants or start him talking about genetics and he's basically as excitable and happy as a kid in a candy store.
This week I'll try to hit everyone up, but I am a slow tired thing and busy until Saturday, so it might be awhile. In the meantime, he could use friends, rivals, frenemies, sparring partners, an ex, someone who speaks sarcasm right back to him, someone who helps him be more open and friendly, everything!
