WHO Margaret Turpin and Zell Zabini WHERE Bavaria, Germany WHEN 5 August 2013; around 2 pm WHY they’re going on a field trip! RATING PG-13 (for an overdramatic Margaret) STATUS closed and complete
“Holy crap! We’re lost,” Margaret declared.
“We’re not lost,” Zell replied flatly.
“Goodness gracious! We’re going to die!”
“We’re not going to die either.”
“Can I panic about anything?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“It’s completely unnecessary to panic.”
“Where the hell are we Zell?”
“I dunno,” he replied with a shrug. Margaret’s eyes widened causing Zell to burst into a fit of laughter. “I’m just kidding! Of course I know where we are. I’m the one who brought us here. We’d be in a lot of trouble if I didn’t,” he added. Margaret glared at him because she wasn’t comforted by this comment, but he simply grabbed her hand and started to lead her forward. She didn’t put up too much of a fight because she was curious as to their location. There were trees everywhere, but this wasn’t a very telling sign since there were trees in most places. Not all obviously so she could count out the Sahara Desert. If her father knew she was wandering around a forest somewhere, unaware of her location, he’d probably scold her for being so irresponsible and demand she know such details the next time. Otherwise he probably wouldn’t let her go out for a few hours to hang out with friends.
“This better be worth it,” she replied indignantly as she pulled her arm loose from Zell’s grip. She didn’t like being led, even if she needed to be led for her own sake. She was more proactive in that regard and Zell leading her was making her feel dependant on him, something she swore to herself she’d never allow to occur ever. She didn’t want to depend on anyone. She was dependant on her parents at the moment, but once she could stand on her own two feet she would. She intended on doing so immediately after leaving Hogwarts. She only had two school years to go.
“It is. I promise. I don’t like wasting people’s time,” Zell explained. He started to walk a little faster and with more purpose. This intrigued Margaret a little. She had a feeling he was doing it to impress her. So the least she could do is make him believe it was working for now. Margaret cared about Zell in her own way, but she wasn’t about to explain to him what that entailed. She knew he probably wouldn’t be too pleased with the difference between their feelings for one another. For now she wouldn’t complicate their wonderful friendship with disappointment stemming from unmet expectations. After a few minutes of walking Zell could be heard muttering things like, “I wish I could apparate already. We would’ve gotten there by now.” He would sigh afterwards and look even more determined to reach his destination.
“I trust you Zell. I’m just a little impatient.”
“Just a little?”
“Oy! Cut me some slack. I overlook some of your faults, don’t I?”
“What are you talking about? I don’t have any faults.”
“Shall we start with your grandiose sense of self?”
“That’s not a fault. It’s called having a good self-esteem.”
“What about your temper? It doesn’t take much for you to go off.”
Zell took a few deep breaths and replied, “I will agree with you on that if you agree to never mention my self-esteem. I personally believe that my self-esteem suits me as a person and I don’t appreciate being limited or being told that just because my self-esteem wants to go above and beyond what is expected of it that there’s something wrong with it/me. Last time I checked, that’s the easiest way for people to label me an outsider and call me crazy. I have no problem with these labels, but seriously my self-esteem is what I need it to be. It’s just a part of me; labels aside.”
What could Margaret say to that? He had a point, even if it was an aesthetic point that she couldn’t completely wrap her head around at the moment. Then they reached their destination. Neuschwanstein Castle was in front of them. It literally took Margaret’s breath away when she saw it. She had to blink a few times to make sure she wasn’t seeing things. “It’s beautiful,” she finally said as she walked closer to the entrance. Zell nodded. “Why’d you bring me here?” she asked him curiously. A part of her hoped it wasn’t to ask her out or anything. That would be an extremely uncomfortable situation to be put into.
“I wanted to show you the piece of real estate I hope to own someday.”
