Ron awoke unpleasantly. His feet were in a puddle, cold and damp, and he was swatting mosquitoes as soon as he sat up to look around. The sun was setting and he jumped up. He realized he was outside and alone. How the hell had he ended up there? He was by himself and checked around to make sure he wasn't leaving anyone by themselves. He felt his wand in his pocket so he decided to fire it a few times in the air. In the mean time, he started walking towards the sound of water. He walked for about half an hour before he could see a beachhouse not far away. Ron frowned but jogged the way there. He knocked on the door and waited patiently. He looked around. Despite the fact that it was starting to get dark, he really wanted to get someplace safe. A few moments later, the door flew open. There was a tall, rather thin blonde woman who answered the door. She couldn't have been a day over twenty and was only wearing a bikini and cover. Ron flushed, "Sorry," he said quickly, "I'm new around here and this is the first place I've seen for a while. Do you think you could point me in the right direction?"
She shook her head, but laughed gently at Ron's reaction. "Well, welcome to Fiji. It's starting to get dark soon so I don't know how far you will get. Goodness knows you can end up in the middle of nowhere easily. Come in," she said, moving out of the way for a moment before going back into the beachhouse. "By the way," she added as she looked over her shoulder at Ron, "It's really warm here. A lot of people are going to be walking about in bikinis, try to get used to it, cutie." She chuckled a little at that. Ron smiled and nodded at what she said. He couldn't help it, it wasn't often he woke up in a strange place with a half-dressed blonde greeting him. Not to mention she was calling him a cutie. Perhaps it was her fashion of a nickname. "Yeah. I'm from England and it's not nearly as warm," he followed her into the kitchen and took a seat at the island formed kitchen, "Our summer is like your winter." He shrugged. She laughed loudly at him before going to sit opposite him. "Very funny. I'm from Wales, I vacation out here. I was supposed to come with my parents, but they couldn't make it. I figure, hey, I'm twenty-one, I can do it by myself. It's awfully lonely, though. I suppose you came by yourself too, cutie. Now, how long are you here for?" Ron smiled and scratched his head a bit. "Well, I kind of landed her accidentally. I've never been but it's not bad. Is there a...well, a center of town, I guess?" The girl nodded, getting up quickly and going back into the rooms of the house.
Ronald looked around while she was gone. It was a pretty nice place. He was lucky to have found it because he noticed the fact that it was starting to get really dark. It wasn't safe since he didn't know where he was. He rubbed his head in slight confusion before sighing and leaning his head against his hand. Finally, the blonde returned with a few brochures and pamphlets. Or at least that's what they looked like. "Here," she said as she climbed back into her chair. She opened the first one, which was a map, and pointed at a red 'x' that was marked in tape. "That's where we are right now. All the way over here," she wound her finger along a long path to a brown drawing on the map, "Is the center you asked about. It's pretty far, but I'll walk you there in the morning. I'm Catherine, but you can call me Cath," she added, thrusting her hand across the table to him. Ron took it and shook it gently, "Ron. And I really do appreciate your help, Catherine. I mean, Cath," he smiled with a blush. "I really should have done a lot more background reading before arriving," he lied. Of course he couldn't tell her he had just appeared in the woods far away from her house.
She laughed, getting up from her chair. "It's okay, Ron. Anyway, you're welcome to stay in my guest room for the evening. We can start walking at dawn because it'll be a long ways. The room is this way and the bathroom is here. It doesn't look like your luggage came with you either, so unless you'd shower to change back into your clothes, I'm sure that really won't be too big a deal." He stood too and smiled. "Yeah, no. Don't worry about it. I really do owe you for this, Cath," he said following her. He settled down in the bedroom she had directed him as she closed the door. He could have sworn she winked as she said Goodnight, but he was tired. He couldn't really be the judge of things. He got himself slightly comfortable on the bed before falling asleep. There would be a lot to do in the morning.
