Ow, sparks, that hurts. David made a noise, nothing at all like a whimper, mind you, but a perfectly manly noise. Then he opened his eyes and rolled onto his side to ease the pain in his back where the barrel of his rifle had been poking into his soft spots. How long had he been laying there? And where in Calamity was he? There weren't any forests outside of Babilar and David had never seen so many living trees or plant-life in.. well, his life. Freaky, he thought.
He pushed himself to his knees, grunting as he adjusted the weight of his rifle. Then grunting again when he realized why it felt so weird. He unslung it to check, confirming his suspicions.
"At least you aren't broken," he muttered. No one else needed to know the magazine was empty, therefore making the weapon perfectly useless. Unless he used it as a club to clobber Epics to death. That was fine, David could pull a good bluff and nine times out of ten, people didn't want to get shot. They'd move.
David's gaze passed over the two women (sparks that's weird!) and he got to his feet, patting his pockets until he found his mobile. No signal. Great. The towers must be ridiculously far off to leave him without a single line of connection. Sparking technology.
"Hey!" David said, pocketing his mobile and slinging his rifle back over his shoulder. He didn't feel like pointing a gun at the women. He knew too many girls that wouldn't take that sort of reaction nicely, thank you. "We are so sparking screwed right now. Like a fish lost in a desert. Come on."
