"It is quieter. But it's all gone silent now." He informed her, since he didn't know how long she'd been out here in the woods, or how quiet it really was back here. "They're dead now. All of them. No more screaming." Nothing to echo through the town anymore. For a little while, people seemed to think that they weren't really dead.. since this had happened before, scenes had been shown and the people turned out alive.

But this time? It didn't seem to be the case. They hadn't come back yet and it'd been over an hour. They'd all continue to wait while their hopes faded with the light.

"No, not hiding. Just looking for a quiet spot, as well." To mourn, but that wasn't something he needed to throw out there. No, Doctor, you were strong and everyone here was going to have to lean on you, eventually, weren't they? They were all leaning on your older self.. but maybe that was for the best. They could stick with him and then he himself would be free to do what needed to be done. That might just work.
