Dawn was the time Rorschach returned to the Clocktower and Merope, but after finding his "present", a doll clearly named "Merope" who was clearly pregnant, he didn't exactly want to be around anymore. The doll was stuffed in his pocket, since the last thing he wanted was for poor Merope to have to see such a disgraceful thing.

Yet, who knew? they hadn't exactly used protection, and neither of them were sterile, as far as Rorschach knew. What if she was pregnant? What would happen then? He pushed the thoughts from his mind, not wanting to think about such matters. He was a masked hero. It was his job to patrol and make sure that the people in Vas Captio were safe, whether they appreciated it or not.

Just then, he heard a soft rustling sound as he passed by the museum. Glancing up toward the sky, his eyes met the line of the rooftop. He thought that he'd seen some movement, even though the light was dim. Even though the sound had been slight, Rorschach was keen of hearing, and he wasn't about to let this go uninvestigated.
