Entry tags:!complete, day 16, location: thrift store, remus lupin, rose tyler

Who: Remus Lupin & Rose Tyler
What: The werewolf inspects his new surroundings..
Where: Near the Thrift Store.
When: Day 16, 9:38am
Rating: PG (Rose & Remus.. Come ON! This isn't Jack & Jones)
Status: Complete

Remus had woken in the forest with strange people. He'd been polite enough but hadn't been particularly interested in sticking around to chat. He didn't have his wand and he felt a little sick to his stomach, and he was exhausted, and all he wanted to do was find a place to sleep. But he couldn't. He had no idea where he was, but he was relatively sure that it was muggle, because there wasn't anything magic around here, none of those people had wands.. and though the dark-haired man had looked like some sort of nymph, he certainly hadn't acted like one. So the werewolf had taken his leave and decided to explore on his own. He'd passed slowly by buildings, looking like a victim from some big-name zombie movie. His face had a patch of gauze over the cheek, taped into place, there was a cut over his opposite eyebrow, a little bit of brusing there along his jaw. One of his hands had gauze on the back and a few fingers had bandages. There were more of those patched wounds under his pale blue, white-spotted cotton PJs. They had long sleeves and long pants, and sock-covered feet were now dirty from walking on the road, and he'd come to a slow stop in front of the thrift store, looking up at the sign. Maybe he could find shoes in there, but then again, he didn't have any money to buy them with.

Where was he? He'd been asleep in his bed in the hospital wing, then he was suddenly waking in the forest with those people and.. the sixteen year old boy let out a breath and lifted an injured hand to ruffle through mouse-brown (sometimes dirty blonde, in the right light) hair, causing the small streaks of gray to spread out a little and become somewhat less noticable.

Now what?

Rose Tyler didn't listen. Had she ever mentioned that? The Doctor knew it by then, but it was high time everyone else figured it out. And she proved it by wandering off on her own that morning. What the heck, right? So what if she was relatively small compared to some of her fellow captives? She'd fought off enemies before. Without weapons, even! She was thoughtful, she was resourceful!

She was so screwed if she got snatched up.

But her exploratory nature took over. Mostly because she found that museum stifling. The people were wonderful, there was no question about that. Everyone was in the same boat, and therefore open and inviting. But she couldn't shake that uneasy feeling she had, even around people she knew and loved. Probably a side-effect of being kidnapped, stuffed in a room with a jackass, and then finding out two friends she thought she'd left for dead were very much alive. Figured.

Her first order of business was to return to the 'scene of the crime' so to speak. She had no idea where the mirrored room of red was, but she did know her way back to the thrift store. And if she didn't, the crudely drawn map would tell her. Even if she found no clues...well, it was a store! She was female after all, and a city girl at that. What Rose hadn't expected was to find a young man, barely more than a child, standing in front of it looking forlorn.

Well. Step one, be friendly. "Hi," she offered, coming up beside the boy. "You look..." She was going to say lost. But he definitely looked more than that. "Like you just got your arse kicked."

Subtlety wasn't Rose's strong point.

The boy turned when he heard the footsteps, hazel eyes locked onto the blonde as she came closer. But only when she stopped (was she really coming over here to talk to him?) and spoke to him did he let out the small breath he'd been holding. She had stated the obvious, as most people did. Yes, he looked worse for wear and he knew it, but was looking back towards that building slowly, eyes lingering on the door, before she earned his attention full-force.

He gave a small nod of his head and was breathing in deeply through his nose. "I'm afraid I'm lost." He admitted, curling that box some under one of his arms. He didn't know what to do with it, but if it had water in it, and that journal, he was going to keep it near. Clearly, the people here wanted him to have it, since each one of the people he'd awoken with had also had one. "Can you tell me where I am?" He must have looked a sight, in his pajamas, taped up like he'd just come out of a knife fight. But his quite demeanor and his sweet face really seemed to scream that he certainly wouldn't willingly get into a fight. Remus Lupin was not a fighter.

Rose gave her head a quick shake, clearing her thoughts. "Sorry," she apologised quickly enough, offering a friendly smile. "It's just that... Well, people have been getting...hurt around here. Thought you might've been one of them." Obviously something had hurt him, but he didn't seem to notice or care. Or think it was included in the world he had just entered.

"So you're new, then? Ha, only my second day and you get stuck with me." She smiled at him and nodded to the box in his arms. "Vas Captio, or so I hear. You, sweetheart, have been kidnapped by some awful but powerful source we've yet to meet." It didn't sound mean enough yet, did it? No, got to make sure he knew he was in serious danger. "I'm Rose, and like I said, it's only my second day. But it feels like a lifetime."

Her face darkened for a moment, remembering the events of the day before. She'd only just starting writing in her journal and already she'd caught sight of at least four people, no longer with them. "Where are you from, love? What's your name?" Better to start slow, right? It was how she worked. The Doctor dived right in, she edged her way through.

"I wasn't." The younger man promised quietly, keeping his eyes settled firmly onto her face. It hadn't been anything here that had hurt him. Well.. maybe it had. Since he was here now. And when she questioned him about being new, he nodded slightly, causing a bit of that too-long, almost shaggy hair to slide into his eyes, and he brushed it back with a thin-boned hand. He looked a little on the skinny side.. but he'd fill out some in the next few days, the moon always played havoc on his body.

He hadn't ever heard of any place called Vas Capito before, but it didn't mean that it didn't exit. Remus was very, very smart, but he wasn't all knowing, despite what his friends joked about. Wait-- he'd been kidnapped? Well, of course he had. Right. Stupid Lupin.

"Hello, Rose." He greeted properly and with a little smile that made the gauze on his face crinkle some to accommodate the move. "I'm Remus.. Remus Lupin. And I'm from Canterbury." Not London, of course. Not everyone English could be from London. And thus, his accent was just that slight different, he was a country boy. "You've been kidnapped, too, then?" He finally looked away from her and back at the thrift store, then briefly down at his sock-covered feet, before regarding her again. "Is this a town full of kidnapped people?" It was like something out of the Twilight Zone.

The poor love looked in need of a hot meal and a long sleep in a warm bed. Unfortunately, he wasn't about to find any of that here. She'd give anything to spirit him off to London to the care of her mum, who would work double time trying to fatten him up a bit. That's just how Jackie Tyler worked. They'd have him patched up and rested in no time, were it up to Rose. Unfortunately, it was up to their captors.

"Remus. Well, that's a bit old-fashioned, isn't it? No faults with that, though, distinguished sounding, definitely. I'm afraid this whole town has, indeed, been kidnapped." A disgusted look washed over her, but she forced the smile back into place. "We're coping, though! You haven't been dropped here alone without help, that's for sure."

Oh, bollocks. She was yammering on like her tongue had been set loose. Wasn't her fault this young bloke was cute and alone and she was the one he had to run into. Rose took a glance up at the store in front of them. She'd been meant to look for clues, but clothes worked, too. "Want to head in?" she queried, interested. "The jim-jams aren't a bad look, really, but you ought to at least try and find some sturdy shoes. Never know what they're going to throw at you here."

"Only as old as the Romans." The younger man countered smartly, but it came with a little smile. It was old fashioned. But then he was looking her over more closely, eyes lingering on her t-shirt, though it may have seemed that he was.. well.. staring at something else. But then he was looking down at her jeans, then her shoes, and back up. "Are the clothes in there like yours?" The clothes, of course, were nothing like hers.. the story was something straight out of the 1970's and most people here were trying to remain in their former clothes, rather than where what the very retro store had to open.. except Gambit, of course.

However, he was nodding some, looking down at his sock-covered feet again, hands tightening somewhat on the box he was holding as he looked back up at her. "I haven't got any money." He had considered the fact that maybe no one was tending the store, but still.. it'd be stealing to take shoes, or clothes. And he wasn't okay with that. Not at all.

Oh, he was adorable. Completely precious and she sort of wanted to cuddle him. Poor thing, all polite and smart and far too good to be stuck here, that much was certain.

She caught him staring and lifted her eyebrows, but Rose smiled. "Canterbury, hmm? What year?" No, Rose Tyler wasn't stupid. Even she could see that somethng odd was going on. People babbling 'star dates' in their journals, talking about planets she'd never seen (and she'd seen a lot of planets)...no, something was definitely not adding up. They were from different times. But where, exactly, had Jack and the Doctor come from? And why had neither of them looked as surprised to see her as she was to see them?

Shaking her head, she gave Remus a small shrug. "No, no, it's totally okay. I have no idea what's in there, actually, but from what I've seen, no one around here takes much note of personal property. Honestly, love, we're just lucky to be okay right now. We'll consider it a loan if it's that important to you, but you've got to get into something more suitable for this place than that."

"Yes, miss." He breathed in slowly, puffing out his chest only a little when she announced where he was from, in question form. But when she asked what year, he looked slightly confused, but answered all the same. "This year. Nineteen seventy six." Well, that was even further back than Remy!

However, she was then announcing that no one took note of anyone's personal property around here and Remus frowned only slightly, the bow of his lips turning down and a small furrow appearing between his eyebrows. "I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with that." The younger man admitted, turning his eyes back onto the dirty glass door leading into the shop. "It's stealing, if you don't have permission. Even if you intend to return it." Proper Remus, even at such a young age. Oh, he wasn't without his more playful side, his prankster side, his friends brought that out in him.

But his friends weren't here now, were they?

Oh, the seventies! Rose had always wanted to see the seventies. It'd been on their list of places to stop, but things always turned them somewhere else. "Oh, do you know The Doors? Or Led Zeppelin? Always wished I could've gone to one of their concerts. Maybe someday, if I get out of-- Anyway." She pasted her smile back into place. Poor guy probably thought she was mad.

"And really? You don't have to call me miss. I can't be much older than you. How old are you, anyway?" As she rambled, Rose all but bounced over to the door of the shop. Now that she had a set mission in mind, she was in a much better mood, despite her lack of sleep. Damn Jack Harkness. Using her forearm, she wiped some of the grime from the glass. "Oh, they're practically ancient!"

Carefully, she tugged on the door, but it opened easily enough. Obviously. Remy had only been in there the day before, after all. "Come on, Remus love. We're stuck here. Whoever left us here left this here for us, right? May as well use it."

When she started naming off bands, Remus only stared at her blankly, before flushing a little and shaking his head. No, he didn't know any of those bands. He didn't listen to much muggle music.. only a few Big Bands, some jazz. The rest was all wizarding music, it was what was abundant in school. And it was all that his two best friends (pure-bloods, hanging out with a werewolf? Unheard of) listened to. So that was what he'd come to like.

"I'm sixteen, just this month past." But he wouldn't ask how old she was. You definitely didn't ask women.. he'd learned that the hard way, when he'd asked one of the young teachers how old she was, and he'd had his bitten off. Sirius had been there. And he would never, ever let Remus forgot it. It was a running gag, the poor boy. "Ancient?" He came forward to look through the glass as well, but then Rose was pulling the door open and he stepped back so that she could swing it out all the way, before slowly following her inside.

"It still doesn't seem right. It does belong to someone, and it's not us." Leave it to the crazy people running this place to stick a short, cute, battered conscience in the middle of the big glass box, just to make everyone second-guess their own decisions. This could be very good, or it could be very bad. Only time would tell.

But time was something Rose had a lot of. Even if she was home, she'd be wrapped up in events involving time. And her whole life, she'd never second-guessed herself. Maybe that was a negative more than anything; Jimmy Stone had all but ruined her life, but she hadn't looked back when running off with him. But she was going to use that bold nature to her advantage for the moment.

"Sixteen? Oh, you're practically a baby to most everyone here," she told him, entering the room slowly. "As far as I can tell, anyway. I'm nearly twenty." Though counting years grew a bit more difficult when on the TARDIS. For all she knew, she was twenty-one by then. She turned in a slow circle, taking in the room in general. "Come on," she said a moment later. "It looks like the clothes are this way."

They did belong to someone, but technically they belonged to a shop owner who seemed to have up and left. "They used to belong to someone," she corrected easily enough, finding the men's shoes easily enough. "What do you usually wear? Trainers? Loafers?"

"I'm not a child." He announced calmly to her, though it was hard to believe, being as bandaged and pathetic as he looked, in those polka-dot jim-jams and socks. It was very hard to believe, but his tone and his demeanor certainly helped it along. "I'm young, but I'm not a child." The werewolf repeated once again, in a softer tone.

However, he gave no argument as he followed her to the back of the store, where she stopped in front of the shoes. But Remus was inspecting the clothes.. this stuff wasn't ancient, it was the height of fashion. And the boy who was used to wearing big collars and wide-leg jeans while at home, would have no problem dressing like this. None at all. "I suppose you're right." He admitted after a few moments, finally turning his eyes back down onto the shoes in front of him. "Trainers." Finally replied, as he knelt down and moved a hand out to collect up a pair of red chucks, flipping them over to check the size. Seven. Perfect. They were worn and too-familiar to Rose, but the boy was setting his box down, then sitting fully to begin tugging them on, over the semi-dirty socks. Once they were on, he was standing up and taking a few steps to make sure they fit alright, before hazel eyes came up and he nodded at her.

"Thank you." Really, he should have gotten new clothes, too.. but he was pleased enough with having shoes. Remus Lupin was very easy to please.

Rose smiled at him. She liked this guy. He was going to be her grounding, she could already tell. "No, you're not," she agreed quietly. "I hate when people still treat me like a kid." And she meant that honestly. Half the time, the Doctor still did. And her mum, too. Between the two of them, she'd feel thirty one day and twelve the next. "It's like...look, let me grow up already, you know?"

While Remus got settled with his new shoes, Rose browsed the section they were in. Shoes everywhere. It was like a shoppers' dream come true. Except, of course, that they were all terribly old. "Ooh, platforms!" she said happily. "Always wanted a pair of these." She turned them over to discover they were a half-size too big. "Bet I can find other ones." And she could. Those were most of what they had.

A moment later, shoes in hand, she turned to survey his feet. "Perfect. They look comfy. You should probably find some pants and a shirt, too. You honestly never know what'll be thrown at you here." Hesitantly, she reached out, touching the bandage on his hand lightly. "And we should probably get you looked at. We have about a million doctors here, it's ridiculous."

He nodded his silent agreement with her statement. Though lately, a lot more adults had been treating him like one of them. It was really quite pleasing to him, that he'd earned that sort of respect. He only wished that he hadn't had to do it the way that it had happened. But then she was going on about some platform shoes and he turned his attention onto her to watch as she happily picked some out. Women. he'd never understand them.. and while she was looking for more, and telling him to find pants and a shirt, he was nodding.

He would have moved away to do as instructed, but a hand had come out and touched that bandage, and he looked down, eyes lingering on their hands for a second before he slowly pulled his back. "Thank you for your concern, I appreciate it. But I promise that I was attended to by a professional and that I am quite alright. I'll heal." A small smile lifted up onto his face then and he lifted his eyes once again to regard her calmly. "You're very nice."

Rose ducked her head and smiled shyly, shrugging her shoulders. Unfortunately, being nice wasn't always considered a good thing. "Sometimes I get told I'm too nice," she admitted, studying his hazel eyes. They were lighter than her own, but very nice. Where hers were more brown with green, his seemed barely speckled with the darker colour. They were an interesting combination, and she liked it. Not that she was getting close enough to a sixteen year-old to find out. Adam was one thing. Jack was another. But she was pretty sure the Doctor would put his foot down at her dragging around someone barely out of primary.

She pulled her eyes from him, then, to look towards the racks of men's shirts. "Oh, there's plenty here. We should be able to get you suited up in no time. And no worries about paying for it," she reprimanded. "If anyone says anything, we'll work it off somehow. But I doubt that's going to happen. Everyone here seems to use this place and I promise you, not one of them has money."

Of course, what was stopping them from coming in and taking everything, she didn't know. But she liked the honour system the city was under. Sure, some of them seemed a bit sketchy. But for the most part, they were just survivors, trying to find their way around.

"If everyone jumped off of a bridge, Rose, would you do it as well?" The younger man questioned her with a bit of a lift to his eyebrows. Oh, look at that. It was a Tiny Doctor! Too old to be as young as he looked. But all the same, he was smiling some and nodding, moving away and towards the rack of men's shirts that she'd settled her eyes on. They were all large, pointy-collared, with garish or earthy, swirling patterns. And all of them, save a few, were polyester. There were a few, of course, that were work-shirts.. but he wasn't reaching for one of those. He was reaching for a brown, toupe, cream and dingy yellow one, with swirling patterns.

Could you tell he was from the seventies? And he was looking at the size on the tag, then nodding once and taking it off the hangar, before carefully replacing said hangar, and moving slowly for the pants. A pair of wide-legged jeans were picked out, they'd sit low on his hips like everything in that era did, but the shirt was long enough to cover any flesh that might have been exposed. And once he had them both, he was looking around for a dressing room, modest boy (she was a girl!). And upon finding it, he headed that way.. but alas, there was no curtain. No door. Just hinges. And the young man let out a slow breath and went inside anyway. The pants and shirt were set down and he was unbuttoning his PJs, his back facing towards her, but he was facing a mirror. And if Rose looked, she'd be treated to a well-toned back and torso.. but his arms were bloody and bandaged, and though his back was only bruised up, his chest had butter-fly bandages holding together three slices, each about ten inches long, over his chest. He looked like someone had thrown him into a cage with a wild animal.

If only she knew.

He tugged on the long-sleeve shirt, but didn't button it up immediately, only stepped out of the cotton pants (which legs were bruised, and he had a few small cuts, and one semi-large gash on one thing, also closed with butter-fly bandages), but then he was stepping into the jeans and pulling them up. Perfect fit. If only Remus had that sort of luck all the time.

"Course I would!" Rose called after him, grinning widely. "I'm not about to be the only one left. What fun is that? Then I'm stuck trying to recreate the entire world by myself. Not biologically possible, by the way, in case you were wondering."

She didn't follow him, of course, that would just be rude. But, assuming the dressing rooms had doors, she did glance back to see which direction he'd gone. And her cheeks flushed a bright red when she caught him peeling off his pajama top. Oi. Not on. He was far too young to look that good. Even if he did look like someone had beaten him down in a gang fight. Poor bloke.

To avoid an even more embarassing scenario, she shifted off to the ladies' clothing, giggling helplessly at some of the outfits. While Seventies Boy seemed right at home in all this poleyester, Rose winced at the scratchy material. "Ever been to a disco, Remus?" she called, pulling a pair of wide-legged pants off the rack and holding them up to her waist. She knew from her mum that sizes had run differently back then, but these were close enough to her own usual size for her to long to give them a try. "I think it'd be way too much fun. I love dancing, how about you?" As shy as he was, she was relatively sure of his answer, but conversation required she not give it for him.

He came out of the dressing room just a moment after she'd answered, smoothing his hands down over the material. He liked the silky feeling under his hands. It was comforting, some how. "No, I haven't. And no.. I've never danced. I don't know how." And he'd never learn, because he'd never dance, because he didn't know how. It was a awful, terrible circle. But one of many that Remus Lupin would follow in his lifetime.

"Have you not ever been to a disco?" He knew what they were, of course. The wizards had their own version of discos, with flying glass balls and all. It was really pretty similar, if a lot more fun. Everything was more fun with magic.. but he had no wand, and no permission to do magic outside of school, anyway. He hadn't graduated yet, he was still just a fifth year. And thus? Magic was completely off limits while not on the school grounds.

"In the year I'm from, they're more dance clubs than discos. Same concept, though. Sometimes even with the mirrored balls. I go out to them sometimes but it's been a long, long time." After all, the Doctor didn't dance. Well, he did, but only when he found her dancing with Jack. Curious, that. Anyone else she'd accuse of being jealous.

With that thought in mind, she studied the boy, with his shaggy hair and retro-outfit. "You could learn. How to dance, I mean. Ask my friends, I'm a pretty good teacher." And Rose did love to dance. All sorts. Jackie hadn't been able to afford formal lessons, but Rose had enrolled in all sorts of community classes for a while. At least, until she reached that troublesome age where she refused to listen to anyone. After that, all dancing was just done for fun.

She paused, and then frowned. "Not that there's any music here. I keep forgetting all the things this place doesn't have." Okay, so she wasn't exactly the most cheerful influence for the newcomer. It happened. She thought she'd been holding up pretty well till jsut then.

"The year you're from?" He suddenly sounded a little skeptical. Calm, logical Remus was going to have trouble believing in time travel. It just wasn't possible, without a time turner. And he'd read all about time turners. They'd just been figured out, a year back, and they were big talk, all sorts of restrictions were being put on them, laws being made. It was a good thing.. they could be very dangerous.

"I'm.. not always very coordinated. But thank you for the offer." He didn't want to embarrass himself, or her, by trying to learn to dance. He was worried he'd step on her toes and look like a complete and utter fool. The werewolf would rather stick to things he knew, or things he knew he could learn and excel at. He was fond of books, and charms, and potions and.. his friends were going to be so worried about him.

"You said that you've been here a day already? Two? Has everyone been here that long?" How long were they going to be here? He had twenty-six days (or so he thought) until the next full moon, and if he was trapped inside here with these people.. he turned his face aside some at the thought. He almost wanted to speak up, to warn them. To warn her. But he didn't. If the moon got closer, he would. He'd admit it and let them do as they pleased with him, to save them the fate he himself had fallen into.

Ooh, he hadn't caught on. She felt badly about that, but Rose knew he had to find out sooner or later. After all, if she was going to crack this case, she needed at least a couple of people with some knowledge. "I'm from the year two-thousand and five," she supplied with a smile. "I know, it sounds mad. I think it's something to do with our kidnappers." No need to tell him that she herself had travelled in time long before her kidnapping. He'd probably find that out in time, if the pair was meant to be friends. "There's magic here. Or very complicated science. I'm not bright enough to figure it out, I can promise you that. But things change. People are different. It's...I don't even know."

Perching herself precariously on the edge of a windowsill, she grinned at him. "A day. Today would be my day two, see. Woke up yesterday with one hell of a headache and a complete git sitting next to me. A real pig, that one. They experiment on people here. Do all sorts of awful things." The grin had left her face and her tone had gone quiet as she explained to the young wizard what all she knew. "People...people have died here, Remus. I urge you to be careful. Really." She was beginning to sound a bit like the Doctor herself with her warnings. Travelling with the man long enough was bound to do that.

"Two thousand and five?" His eyebrows rose high when she said that.. but then he nodded some. He supposed, by that time, maybe they could have figured out the Time Turners, given them more power, and mass produced them, found out a way to keep people from meeting themselves.. perhaps send them to other places, places they could never be. Or further back than they were born. For instance, Rose, if she were twenty, wouldn't be alive yet.. so it was plausible that she could be traveling her and not messing with her own time line. Right? Of course. It made sense.

"They experiment?" He prompted just a moment later, drawing in a slow breath as he did. "They kill people?" Oh, Merlin. This wasn't some where he wanted to be. Not at all. He wanted to tell her that he was much more dangerous than any of the people kidnapping them, but it wouldn't do to scare her. And besides.. if they wanted to experiment on these people.. what better way to end the experiment than to let a werewolf loose on them? He swallowed slowly, but he was brought abruptly back to reality as he lifted his eyes back up to hers.

"Well I should probably get going." And get far away from her. And anyone else.

If Rose had any idea of the thoughts running through the young werewolf's mind, she'd be quick as lightening to stop him from his train of thought. Sure, it was dangerous once a month to have him around, but they'd figure out a way to keep everyone safe in the process.

But she wasn't privy to that information, and instead she hopped down and tried to smile at the boy. "Look, we're all working on a way to get out of here. This friend of mine? He's a genius. He really is. If he can't get us out, well... There's plenty of smart people here." She pointed at the box he'd carried in. "There's a book in there. A journal. It's weird, but if you write in it, people can see it and write back. Ideas everywhere, people checking in to make sure others are safe. It's a lifeline, use it."

Reaching out, she touched his arm and gave an unbruised portion a gentle squeeze. "And you'll need to find a place to stay tonight. It's early still, but you'll want to settle somewhere before nightfall." Again, she motioned towards the book. "If you want to go exploring now, that's fine, but if you haven't bunked down somewhere, just journal to me. Ours is packed, but we'll definitely find you somewhere non-skeezy to sleep."

Remus only nodded silently as she began speaking, telling him about her friend -- well, that was actually some bit of comfort. Hopefully they wouldn't be here long at all. And when when she started talking about the journal, he looked down at it and stared. You could write back and forth to one another? He'd heard of things like that before.. it was strange that someone would just give him one.. but he was nodding again, his silent understanding.

Once she finally reminded him he'd want to be in before nightfall, he let out a breath and nodded a final time, curling his hands some around the box. "Thank you very much. It means a lot to me. I'll contact you, I promise. Even if I find somewhere else to stay." He'd let her know that he was safe and sound, somewhere. He didn't want her to worry, after all. "Thank you." Repeated again, as he offered that small smile.. then turned to head for the door.

"Brilliant," Rose confirmed, smiling. "Oh, and it's only fair I warn you, not everyone here's from England. You're going to hear dozens of different accents." Had she covered all of the bases? Maybe. It was hard to guarantee, with the entire world around them being one great big mess.

She turned back to the racks, grinning over her shoulder at him. "Go exploring. Just be careful, okay? You still look pretty beat up. There's a map in your journal thing if you need more info." He got a few more steps to the door before she called back out, "and good luck, Remus!"
