Remy LeBeau ([info]ace_of_clubs) wrote in [info]vas_captio_rpg,
Remy nodded some as the Doctor explained, but didn't say anything more of it, since the older man had made it clear, with that shake of his head, that he didn't want to talk about it anymore. Likely didn't even want to think about it. Gambit was the same way about Logan. He'd write something in the journal to have Logan's name taken off the list, but he wouldn't offer any sort of explanation. None of them deserved one. And he was sure that none of them wanted one.

But when the Doctor thanked him, it brought that sudden, strange smile back to his face, like turning on the sun. The Doctor would remember, days ago, when he'd thanked Remy for the first time, and that smile had appeared for the first time. And this was the first time since them -- it wasn't like his others, it was different in every way, unique to the Doctor. "Jus' droppe' it off, ain' say not'in' to him." There hadn't been any apology, no words exchanged. Just a jacket and a note. It was better that way. He knew Jack didn't particularly like him.

The reason why was standing in front of him.

And after another short silence, with Gambit trying to steel himself from speaking what he wanted to say, from voicing the things in his head, he was finally losing the battle with himself and speaking up. "Come back. S'il vous plaƮt?" He smiled along with the request and rocked up onto his toes a little. Childish gestures.
