Jack leaned into that gentle touch, unable to keep from grinning as she ran her fingers over his face. God, he really had missed her -- perhaps moreso when he saw her so young and full of life. This was the woman he adored beyond belief. When he saw her years later after all that time in that parallel universe, she seemed changed. But this? This was his rose.

"Three?" Jack looked at her with mock horror. "It's you scaring the ever living daylights out of me by arriving here," he said, tutting softly. "And they don't grow back. Urban myth. However, saw something once upon a time in the Cardian galaxy. Pulled one grey hair and the poor creatures went bald."

That, however, was the easiest question for Jack to answer. "A little more than a week," Jack replied. "Maybe about ten days now. Long enough to be going through coffee withdrawl and ready to kill anyone for a decent cup. Stuff we got this morning was good but not what I'm used to." Jack flashed her a grin then, attempting to adopt an air of innocence. "What do you mean 'what'. Isn't the better question 'who'?"
