Day 14: 9:25AM, the Pharmacy
Who: Lexie Grey and OTA
What: Munchies
When: Mid-Morning
Where: The Pharmacy
Rating: PG

Status: Open

Reminder: The Pharmacy is the site of the junk food craving additives

The morning came and went with Lexie taking inventory at the clinic and writing down on a torn off page from her journal some useful medications she'd like to get from the Pharmacy, things she knew she could use. Things she hoped would be there. Things that would serve as an excuse for her to leave the gym and have a distraction from yesterday. Not that yesterday was bad. On the contrary, yesterday had been good. It had been amazing. It had been supreme. She'd got her room. She'd been healed. She'd been... Right. That last bit right there? That's what she was trying to avoid thinking about. She was trying to push the amazing, rainy morning out of her memory because if she dwelt too long on it she'd go all girl and the last thing she needed was to turn into a girl right now.

So, she'd left the gym and went for a walk to the Pharmacy. She'd pushed open the doors and slid back behind the Pharmacist's counter with her list in hand, weaving through the back aisles with her maglite in hand, surveying the bottles and their labels. It didn't take long until she found what she needed and was stacking everything into a big blue basket. Leaning on the counter she looked out over the quiet establishment. If she was trying to avoid thinking of Dean she'd come to the wrong place, that's for sure. She could smell him everywhere. Oh, that just made her nervous; or, at least that's what she thought.

Lexie, Stress Eater, Grey. That's what her name should have been. Instead of standing there and realizing that she wasn't in fact stressed but under the influence of something else entirely, Lexie trundled up to the rack of candy bars and taking one up she started enjoying the chocolatey goodness. Oh, look, feeling better already.

Sam felt like he needed to help Shannon make the museum the home it had been previously in order to get things back to normal, or as normal as they could be in this place. Which was why he'd set out alone for the pharmacy with the intention of gathering up some candy and schnapps to start or add to Shannon's personal supply. Not only did he think she'd appreciate the gesture, he was pretty sure that the schnapps would be in demand sometime soon and it would be best if it was already on hand.

He pushed over the door of the pharmacy and found Lexie eating her chocolate bar. He gave her small smile. "Lexie, hey," he said, his mouth suddenly watering at the sight of the candy bar she was eating.

His eyes moved towards the display behind her. "Those any good?' He asked, stepping up and taking one in his hand. "They look delicious."

Lexie had taken a seat on the floor, her journal in her lap. With a candy bar in one hand and a pen in the other she was writing quickly with a crinkle between her brows of concentration. Then up popped sasquatch and Lexie jumped a little before she realized it was Sam.

"Oh hey!" she said, sticking the candy bar between her teeth and giving him a small wave with her free hand. "Your brother... and pretty much everyone else? Totally off their rockers..." Bite, snap, chew, smile. She was currently eating a plain old Hershey bar. Who knew that plain old chocolate was so delicious?

Setting down her pen she leaned over and grabbed one, tossing it up to Sam. "You should have one, they're awesome."

"What do you mean?" Sam asked, frowning at her slowly as she ate the candy. He reached out and caught the candy bar she threw him out of the air. He unwrapped it and took a bite, thinking that somehow this was the most delicious meal he'd had yet. He also immediately knew that after this one he'd have to have another.

He took a large bite and started looking around the gas station, reaching out and picking up candy as he saw it. "I'm so hungry."

It felt as if he hadn't eaten in days, which wasn't true. Though it was true that he probably could've eaten better over the last two days, but food ahd been scarce. He shoved the last of the candy bar in his mouth and started unwrapping the next one.

"You haven't looked in your journal today, have you? Everybody's going on about rainbows and shiny things... Hell, Rorschach just threatened to kill me over ho-ho's," a more sensitive girl would be frightened. Lexie had decided if Rorschach did try to kill her she'd kick him in the balls, stomp on his foot and run. That's right, Winchesters, Lexie Grey could take care of herself.

"All I know is I'm demolishing these twinkies..." She kicked away the box so as to keep herself from pulling out another one.

"Did you just inhale that?!" Lexie was laughing as the candy bar disappeared and Sam was going for another. "Seriously?!"

Sam raised his eyebrows and broke out into a smile at the mention of rainbows and ho-hos. "What? Really?" He asked, his brow furrowing slightly as he tried to figure out what this new development might mean. "Now what do you think they're up to?"

"Twinkies?" Sam asked, his mouth watering again at the thought. God, he hadn't had a twinkie in what seemed like forever. He eyed the box a few feet away, noting that there were only a couple left. He wondered how rude it would be to pick up the box when she'd just kicked it away.

He looked up at her when she asked him if he'd just inhaled the candy bar. "Yeah," he said, taking a bite of the second one and giving her a slightly challenging look. "So?"

"You know what sounds good right now?" He asked, moving down the isle. "Cheetos."

"Seriously." Lexie said terminally with a shrug, giving a forlorn glance to the Twinkies. "I have no idea... What do hallucinations and Twinkies have to do with each other?"

She watched as he surveyed the Twinkies. Like they were little bars of gold. The are little bars of gold... Well, to Lexie anyway. She tried really hard to ignore them. She needed a distraction. Any kind of distraction. Oh, look chips!

"I have never seen anyone inhale an entire bar like that before. It's fascinating. Did you unhinge your jaw?" OK, she was teasing.

"CHEETOS." Forget the chips in front of her, to Lexie the most amazing thing on earth right now would be a bag of those wonderful fake-cheesed-puffed-orange-coated-bits-of-love. "I'm not even hungry and they make my mouth water." Lexie took up a bottle of water, taking a few gulps. She knew she had to do something or she'd just go in for another bag of chips.

"You've gotta help me, Sam. If I eat one more thing I might explode."

"Hallucinations?" Sam repeated, a confused look crossing his face. "What are you seeing?" He sighed. "Signs of drug use?" He guessed. "Not that I think you've done drugs." They'd pretty much established that Lexie wasn't the type to do drugs during their card game a couple of days ago.

Sam couldn't help but grin at her remark even as he broke off a piece of chocolate and shoved it in his mouth. He raised his eyebrows. "How many Twinkies did you have?" He asked, chewing as he spoke and eyed the box.

His hand moved down the rack of chips before picking out a bag of cheetos. He'd ripped it open, juggling it and the chocolate in his hands so he could reach in and shove some in his mouth. He regarded Lexie curiously as he crunched loudly on them. "What else have you eaten?"

"Not me, everybody else. Dean going on about Unicorns; some new guy talking about something called a Tribble? Ever heard of those?" She shrugged. sounded like gibberish to her. "You think they're drugging us?" She looked at the food suspiciously. Was it the food? No, couldn't be.

"Four." She'd had four twinkies. Ok, five. And she was thinking of having a fifth sixth. "I bet I can fit more twinkies in my mouth at one time then you can," she challenged. And look, the box was so close... Yes, Sam, she was challenging you to a twinkie-off.

"Twinkies... candy bars.. Lots of chocolate... Chips..." Lexie shrugged. To hear herself say it, it sounded like a lot of food. "I'm not even really all that hungry.."

Sam snorted. "Unicorns?" He said around a mouthful of food. He shook his head. "Never heard of them," he said in regards to the mention of tribbles. "They sound like some kind of muppet."

He stopped chewing to think for a minute. "I don't know, is it possible to drug all of us at once? It'd explain a lot of things, wouldn't it?"

He finished chewing and swallowed before answering her challenge. He regarded her for a moment as if measuring her up. "Deal." He'd wanted to get his hands on the twinkies anyway and there was still a part of the chubby twelve year old of years past that refused to let Sam back down from a dare.

He moved over and retrieved the box before sitting down beside her. He grabbed a handful. "That's a lot of food," he said as he started unwrapping them and lining them up on his leg. He glanced at her. "That's kind of weird isn't it? I mean, you don't usually eat like that, do you?"

"Dude, to me it sounds like some screwed up version of a truffle. Maybe it's a truffle with something dribbled on top?" She looked hopeful. That actually sounded good. Truffle with Chocolate dribbled on the top = Tribble.

"You don't think it's the food, do you?" Lexie looked around, she didn't see anything suspicious. Everything looked the same to her.

"Deal," he said and Lexie's face lit up like a Christmas tree. She rubbed her hands together in anticipation, taking up her own batch of twinkies and unwrapping them.

"You're going down, Winchester," she said, smiling at the neat little row of white dotted pastry bottoms in front of her. "We're going for total number of twinkies. Only full twinkies will be counted. If you spit out your twinkies you automatically lose."

"Ready?" She asked, picking up Twinkie number one.

Again Sam felt his mouth water at the mere suggestion of chocolate dribbled tribbles.

"I don't think so," Sam said. "If everyone who is experiencing the effects ate then we'd be out of food." The possibility of being out of food suddenly seemed like a very real threat. He'd have to remember to take some and stash it back at the museum.

He nodded as she stated the rules, an amused smile crossing his face. He was practically twice her size. There was no way he wouldn't beat her. "Ready," Sam said matter-of-factly, though there was a smile in his voice as he picked up his first Twinkie. "Go!"

He shoved the first Twinkie in his mouth and moved to pick up the second.

"I don't think so, either," she quickly agreed. There couldn't be anything wrong with the food, it was just so delicious.

Sam agreed to her rules, and he even sounded the start. Lecxie grinned in anticipation, taking up the first Twinkie with a nod.

Totally going down.

First snack cake in and Lexie felt confident: the cake was sort of dense and the filling wasn't as pliable as she had expected but she'd totally be able to win this. It'd just be a matter of convincing Sam that he was going to lose. Or that he'd already won.

Twinkie number two was put in her mouth with little trouble and Lexie grinned. Two down!

Sam stuffed the second twinkie in, looking over at Lexie and unable to resist returning her grin, despite the fact that he had a twinkie nestled in his left cheek. He picked up a third and grinned at her before stuffing it in his mouth also.

Two, maybe three more. He estimated as he tried to move things around with his tongue to make more room. It was a good thing Dean wasn't here or else he'd have both of them beat hands down. He had to choke back a laugh at the thought of Dean's cheeks full of nuts. What job had that been? Oh, right. The Trickster.

Sam let out a breath through his nose and prepared himself for Twinkie number four.

It was time for twinkie number three. Looking at Lexie you'd think she had five twinkies stuffed in there the way her cheeks puffed out. If she wanted to win, she'd have to either play dirty or spawn another mouth. However, she'd hold out hope. At least until Twinkie number five.

Taking up the third twinkie she waved it at Sam with a waggle of her brows before rather neatly shoving it into her mouth with a creamy-filling laced grin. She knew, confidently she could fit one more twinkie in. Beyond that? Well, she'd have to hope that Sam started to gag. If he gagged she'd win. Gag, Sam! Gag!

Sam's mouth might have curved up into a smile at the sight of Lexie waggling her eye brows at him, but it was much too full. His eyes though, were clearly amused as he glanced upwards trying to move things around so that he'd have room for the fourth twinkie.

His stomach seemed to give a small revolt at the thought of him actually swallowing any of the spongy cream filled cake in his mouth, even though it was quickly conflicted with the thought that there was nothing better in the whole wide world than twinkies and other junk food. He wasn't sure he'd ever felt sick and tantalized at the same time.

He wagged his own eyebrows at Lexie, seeing as how he was unable to trash talk with his mouth, and shoved in twinkie number four. The corner crumbled, rolling down his chest and into the floor. He winced, picking it up and rubbing the dirt off with his shirt before putting it into his mouth. He'd better win this.

Lexie watched the ever changing expression of Mr. Sam Winchester. It seemed like he was fairly amused as his jaw moved and cheeks shifted. Oh God, he was going to try and fit another one, wasn't he?

And then he waggled his eyebrows. Lexie's hand came up reflexively because she was about to start laughing and if she laughed she'd lose. Eyes squeezing shut Lexie tried to control her diaphragm. Just as she managed to control her laughter she popped her eyes back open just in time to see Sam scraping up a bit of Twinkie from the floor and put it into his mouth.

"Eeeeeew!" Came the muffled noise of disapproval. Better to lose the twinkie battle than to come down with worms. Who knew what kind of crap was all over these floors. Lexie tentatively picked up Twinkie number four and with brute force she tried to fit it into her mouth. She made it half way before having to give up. "Unnnnghhh," she rolled her eyes. She'd try again, leaving a remaining quarter twinkie to go. One more breath, she could do this, she could fit one more.

Lexie Grey was now nearly unable to close her mouth, the fourth Twinkie being her last. If Sam made it to Twinnkie number five she'd have to concede.

She was praying for Sam's failure.

Sam might have laughed at the sound of disgust coming from Lexie's full mouth, if he hadn't been a little disgusted himself at what he'd just done. He grimaced around the contents of his mouth before raising his eyebrows in suprise.

Lexie was forcing twinkie number four into her mouth. He watched her as she crammed all of it in and then blinked blankly at her. Well done.

Sam picked up the fifth twinkie and looked at Lexie over it. He let out a breath through his nose and then set to stuffing it in.

He was doing fine until a particularily vicious shove sent a piece of sponge cake rolling back into his throat. He coughed reflexively, sucking in more sponge cake and then he gagged, turning away from Lexie and crawling away before he could spit the stuff out around the corner of the aisle.

Wait. Wait. Wait!

Lexie watched in near horror as Sam started to push the cake back into his mouth. Until he started coughing and sputtering. She held on a moment -- he could be faking. Oh shoot!

He started to gag and crawl away and Lexie took up the empty twinkie box thinking it fitting to put them back where they had come from.

"Sam? You alright?" She licked at the roof of her mouth, she really needed a drink of something now.

"Sam?" She crawled closer, near enough to make sure he had a clear airway and hadn't needed anything more than a good bruise to his ego.

Sam grabbed the nearest display, not even paying attention to what he was overturning so that he'd have a box to spit the twinkies out. There was no way he was cleaning this up. He made a single retching noise as they came out and then he sat up and wiped at his cream laced mouth.

He took a deep breath full of air and thought he might be sick. His body said no more food, but his eyes had landed on a box of candy bars in the opposite isle and his brain was screaming for him to eat more.

"I'm okay," he said, forcing himself to look away from the candy and over at Lexie. He gave her an acquiescing smile. "Guess you win."

He got to his feet, feeling his stomach turn as he picked up the box and tossed it in a trashcan in the corner. "I should probably get going."
