Elliot's eyebrows raised at him and he gave her a weak smile "You could say that," he replied nonchalantly. He could tell by the way she looked away a bit and by the tightness of her smile that she knew he'd done it before and why. Clearly, she disapproved. Obviously Elliot hadn't ever had the pleasure of trying. He wondered, if she hadn't ever done pills, whether she'd ever tried spliff when she was his age and if not...what the bloody hell did she do for fun? He nodded weakly at her as she excused herself.
His mind wandered again to Cass. He wondered if she had sent him the postcard as a hint and whether she was waiting for him to show up. Sid wondered, too, if he would ever be able to. Was Cass thinking about him? Did she even care? Or had the postcard been nothing more than her letting him know that she was alive and well somewhere and the lack of return address her way of saying for him to forget about her?
The train of thought was interrupted and then lost entirely when he heard Elliot's voice again. Slowly, he opened his eyes after she administered the injection. "Right...thank you," he said sincerely, his eyes moving to glance behind her. There were other people she could be helping right now and he was taking up her time. He figured if he passed out now, he could be killing two birds with one stone. No need to keep up conversation with a complete stranger and no need for her to waste time with him when others might need her. The way Sid saw it, it was a win-win situation. "Will do, thanks," he replied again and then closed his eyes. Not terribly long thereafter, Sid had fallen asleep.
