"I'm calling you less well adapted," she smirked. Truth was, she was the less well adapted one. Deep down there was that scary, scary thought that maybe just once she'd be put on something and she wouldn't be able to get off it. She'd be dependent. She'd be just as bad as...
"You're seeing it right now, Andy. I'm hopped up on Ketamine right this minute. Can't you tell?" God she wished that this whole mess was the result of some messed up interaction with something in the hospital. Maybe someone thought it would be funny to try and give her a shot of something? Maybe she came into contact with something there and that was what knocked her out? Maybe none of this was real at all? The whole thing - bum shoulder, blood, Dean, Andy, the nasty journal; they were all just her, talking with herself. Yeah, that could be it.
"Nobody likes the green ones..." she comiserated. They'd had a contest once, to see how many grren lollipops they could get George to shove in his mouth without gagging. He'd made it to thirty. Sadie made it to 38. Lexie could only manage 29; but, that was because the taste was absolutely nauseating.
"Death by blowpop..." Lexie playfully shuddered against him. She tugged at the sling and tried to figure out just what she had to do to make it more comfortable. Oh, right, that would be not wearing one at all. Yeah... She hadn't even noticed where his hand had gone to. The whole interaction, it was safe, maybe the safest one she'd had. There wasn't that electricity that made her feel like she had to be up and going the whole time like she had to be with Dean. No, this was like being back home, sitting on the couch and watching a movie with a friend. It was nice.
"I'd love to know about those connections of yours," she teased, only half taking him seriously. "Dude, that Doctor guy? Just the thought of him creeps me out, man. Who does that? Calling themselves a Doctor? If he really was one, you'd think he'd be in the clinic helping..." like I should be.
"No Minnow, no Titanic." That was a simple enough level of qualification. "What're you talking about? I had this plan to inflict another K-Hole on you a sea just to see if you could handle it. By then you, too, might be bigger, stronger, and faster."
