"Damn, I thought the gimps stuck together..." she actually sounded disappointment, though acting disheartened wasn't too hard for her to do at the moment; even if it was supposed to be over some fictitious gimp club.
An elbow hit her ribs and Lexie knew she should be smiling, and she did. A little. It was a real smile, clinging to her cheeks and her eyes and the bridge of her nose. It was a bit faded, but it was genuine. He said she was hotter when she smiled and she shook her head. It was sweet of him to be so kind. She didn't know what she did to deserve it. It was just Andy being Andy, she supposed, and Lexie appreciated that more than anything, compliments included.
It was fucking depressing in the gym. Really fucking depressing. Swinging her legs over the cot edge she reached out with her good arm and gripped his hand, pulling up against him. Despite her best efforts it strained her hurt shoulder, too; but, that couldn't be prevented. Practically everything strained her shoulder. Even talking.
"I know," she said quietly, looping her good arm with his. Professional gimp or not, she was pretty sure he might need someone to lean against as they walked outside. "Thanks, Andy," she said quietly, leaning her head against his shoulder. Twelve more steps and she could break. Eleven.. Ten.
The threshold was getting close and Lexie could already feel her throat tightening. She needed out of there before she couldn't hold back any more.
