Her response was less than satisfactory, especially when she tried - and failed miserably - for a smile. "Liar," he said quietly, offering her a smile to match her own - not entirely there and definitely not meeting his eyes. "Could be worse, yeah. ...but that wasn't what I asked," he pointed out.
Waving a dismissive hand and giving her a more genuine smile, Andy shrugged. "It's fine. Elliot stitched it back up. I'm a pro at being a gimp, by now, don't worry about me," he laughed.
Andy looked away from Lexie again, then. He could already tell that she was going to downplay just like he did. She was going to pretend like she was okay, just like he had been, when it was clear to anyone who bothered half a second to notice that she was far from it. "You know, peaches, we're a hell of a lot more alike than maybe either of us is entirely willing to admit," he thought aloud without looking back at her. Then, he looked back at her again. "You wanna take a walk? Get some fresh air and clear your head?" He paused and then lowered his voice. "Avoid everybody's prying eyes for a few minutes?" he offered gently.
