The Doctor was still for a moment. Gambit had walked away. Jack had walked away. It had left him just a few fleeting moments to focus his mind, calm his nerves, and retrain his attention on something other than that silvery line of rage that seemed far too unwilling to be shoved back into the box from which it had come.
His hands went as deep as they could into his pockets as he turned on his heels and walked back to the center of the barn. Jack was right, they needed to secure the wall. The Doctor, quietly, picked up a nearby piece of lumber and jutted it against the wall with a groan out of the timber. The Roof above their heads jostled a bit; but, made no real motion to fall. Not yet anyway.
