It wasn't an apology for Logan or Gambit that Jack was looking for. Hell, Jack wouldn't mind strangling Logan for that matter -- all the easier because Logan wouldn't die and they'd continue on their merry way afterwards. Jack kept a close watch on the Doctor, waiting to see what was going to happen, ready to step between them if needs-be. Jack drew in a breath when things seemed to calm down, helped by Logan's current absence.
"Later," Jack muttered out of the side of his mouth, looking at the Doctor. Later he'd let the Doctor rage at him, in the hopes that he could get the other man back to how he should be. This side of the Doctor was damn near frightening and Jack knew in an instant the legends he had grown up hearing were true in every detail.
Jack clapped the Doctor on the shoulder one last time before withdrawing his hand and taking another swig from the water bottle. "What do I want you to do? Many, many things," Jack replied with a smirk. "What you should be doing? We need to get the wood Logan's cutting and figure out how to raise a barn without egos clashing anymore than they already have which is a challenge in and of itself." Jack drew his lips into a thin line. God he didn't like playing the mediary. He was better in the position of power, his words damn near sounded ineffectual. "Let's just secure the wall, okay? Figure out what to do from there."
