Entry tags:!dropped, day 09, glados, gregory house, location: post office

WHO: Greg House, GLaDOS
WHAT: The doctor... doctors.
WHEN: mid-afternoon
WHERE: Post-Office
RATING: TBA.
STATUS: Active

Thank god for the pharmacy. He now know had a place to get his supplies and yes, he'd hidden things away so that he could find them whenever he wanted. True, he shouldn't be hiding drugs but he needed them and there weren't enough to satisfy his habit. Which was, soon, going to be a problem.

But for the time being, he'd just carry on. Always did and always would. He still had avoided the other Doctors, not wanting to get roped into anything. Yes, he would assist when necessary but this wasn't his thing. Cases around here weren't interesting. Nothing was the type that would draw his attention.

He hobbled through town as best as he could, passing what could have -- at one time -- passed as a post office. Then he saw... well. This was certainly going to fall under his definition of interesting.

Why were there no birds singing? There were supposed to be birds.

GLaDOS was sitting, hunched and fairly disjointed looking, on the front stoop of the Post Office. She was trying to bend her back and legs in such a manner that she could easily see that back of her calf. To the observant, it would be painfully obvious the reason that she was trying to garner a look at the backs of her legs: with the bottom of her pant legs rolled back a long thing wound could be seen running nearly half way around her leg just below the knee joint punctuated on each end by a round knob like gouge at each end about the size of a half dollar.

GLaDOS, despite the look of obvious pain and frustration on her face was humming quietly. She was trying to think of how she might close the wound when she could even properly see the largest part of it.

Set up behind her was the big super secret surprise, it's corners tucked into the siding and held by sticks that she had jammed in there too pinching the paper between. The poster flapped a little in the subtle breeze; a bold and significantly older Britney Spears bald and proclaiming, "Oops, I shaved it again! 35th reunion tour!" GLaDOS had no idea what it meant and hoped someone might tell her.

House was decidedly falling under the category of 'painfully observant'. He was the doctor who had diagnosed an via satellite uplink before and one didn't get to be as good as he was without having some degree of competency in the category of 'observant'. Otherwise, House would have kept walking.

Moreso than the winding coil thing what caught House's attention but rather the poster. He stopped, cocking his head to the side and stared at it longer than he should have. Good to know Britney had managed to hang around for that long and the pun was rather amusing if he did say so himself. Humming not Britney but rather 'MMM-Bop', House lowered his gaze to the woman.

"Impressive. The feminine embodiment of Tigger?" House asked by way of greeting.

GLaDOS' humming slowed to a crawl as she let go of her ankle and looked up to the source of a tune that was not her own. It was a man. A man with a limp. This subject would not be suitable. Unfortunate.

Her head tilted, not knowing the song he was humming. She would need to inquire later as to it's origins.

The man's question, too was lost on her. She did not know what this 'tigger' was. "No." she remarked melodically.

"I need to repair the defect to the backs of," she paused, "my legs." She was wiggling her sock-clad toes. She did not know if this subject would be able to help her, he appeared to be malfunctioning himself.

Oh come on, that had to get some sort of a reaction. House glanced behind him, as if expecting to see Cuddy or Wilson behind him and chuckling. House was firmly convinced this was nothing more than some vast conspiracy against him, trying to get him to swear off Vicodin completely.

Fat chance of that happening.

Curiosity got the better of House, however, and he headed over to the woman, crouching down as best as he could. This would be a bitch trying to stand later. But still, he couldn't resist looking at the legs and the gaping holes at the knees. "Outside of the fact that you have a hole, what seems to be the issue? There's nothing defective here holes notwithstanding."

GLaDOS blinked.

"The holes are the defects."

Her voice was plain. She was trying to decide if the subject would be worthwhile in engaging in one of her trials. She decided against it. It wouldn't do her any good to go and experiment on the first person who might be proficient in repairing her legs.

"Would you be able to fix them?" Her inquiry was bland, but she blinked, as if that might manage to make it seem a bit more heart felt.
