Andy Gallagher is not the droid you're looking for ([info]brain_ninja) wrote in [info]vas_captio_rpg,
Andy nodded grimly as he followed Sam up the stairs as fast as he could manage with the bum leg. He could understand Sam wanting to haul him up rather than cut him down. Andy wasn't entirely sure he could stomach the sound of the fall, either, but he wouldn't have admitted it out loud, even if asked.

Sam didn't really leave Andy any room to help, but as far as Andy was concerned, that was just fine. He wasn't sure he had the heart or the stomach, not to mention the physical strength, to do it. But once the dead man was inside the clock tower, Andy's stomach turned and he swallowed thickly. He'd seen the picture at the same time Sam had. "Fuck me..." he muttered under his breath. "That's Lily," he added unnecessarily. Clearly it was and Sam knew it, given his statement about the picture being for them. "You think that's a message? Or just fucking with us...?" he asked, frowning. If it was a message, what was it saying? That they could never leave? That they should never bother trying? Had the man who was now dead on the floor tried to escape and that was why he was now dead?

"We can't just leave him like this," Andy said quietly, reaching out and taking the picture from Sam, looking down at it and then closing his eyes before reflexively tucking it into his back pocket as some sort of macabre reminder, should he ever forget that he could never go home. Swallowing back the urge to throw up, Andy leaned down and took the dead man's arms. "You get his legs, we haul him downstairs and outside?" he asked. "Somebody should bury the guy, y'know? Might as well be us. Who knows if he even knew anybody here..."
