The Doctor ([info]fromgallifrey) wrote in [info]vas_captio_rpg,
The Doctor admired the Cajun's candor. It was sort of uncommon around here, to be candid. Well, unless he was talking about himself. People talked in circles and made observations and assumptions about everyone else; but, rarely did anyone really want to lay it all on the table, least of all him. Sure, his opinions were thrown like dust in the wind; but, about his home? Well, that was best left unexplained, he'd decided - especially once Shannon had reacted the way she had to the idea of Aliens. George had not reacted so badly, then again, she was not exactly carbon copy human herself.

A smirk lingered for a moment across the Doctor's features. This guy was a lot like Jack - captain obvious and all. The Doctor didn't mind, sometimes having a play by play announcer is nice. The Doctor watched as Gambit took in the modulator and then the paintings. "They're all quite fake," he said quietly. "Good fakes, but quite inauthentic."

The Time Lord leaned over and opened his bag, pulling out a bottle of water he tossed it in Gambit's general direction before pulling out another for himself.

Might as well help Gambit's logic train down the tracks, the Doctor supposed. "You're actually quite correct. You see, I'm a time traveller. My home, essentially, is gone because it's been time locked. No one can get in, no one can get out," it was fairly clear from his tone the Doctor was being forthright - then again, for a man who had blatantly said he didn't like to lie, there was no reason to suspect dishonesty.

"You really have quite the fascination with aliens, don't you? I wouldn't suppose you're actually from another planet?" Oh, wait, was the Doctor being slightly manipulative there? Who knew he had it in him.
