The false Doctor had to fight an urge to roll his eyes when Edward recalled the earlier conversation in the journals. He had wondered whether the man was just pretending to be naive to put him in difficulty, but now that he saw him in person it was obvious that Edward didn't have any need to pretend. He watched everything with wide eyes, like a child.
"It's nice to meet you in person," he said, shifting back slightly as he saw the shears move. He didn't think Edward would attack him on purpose, but he looked clumsy and the blades were razor-sharp. "How come you're alone?" he asked feigning concern. The real Doctor would have probably said something along those lines. "There are clones of people walking around the town, it would be dangerous if any of them found you here."
