Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:!dropped, day 08, kimihiro watanuki, location: museum, npc

Who: Clone!Watanuki & Watanuki
What: Encore of the Anti-Watanuki chaos
Where: The museum
When: Night
Rating: TBD, but PG for starters
Status: Active

The impostor was still laughing from his encounter earlier with the little blonde troll and the idiot. It had felt good to say to them all of the things that the real Watanuki would never say, all of the things that, in fits of anger, he may have thought. It was highly unlikely, though, that he ever would have thought such things. Regardless, there was material there to feel that way, and injustice towards himself was something that he was not going to put up with.

It was then that he noticed a familiar figure. They were the same right down to their very clothes. He had to wonder, though, if he looked quite that dopey from behind. He decided that he did not. Arms crossed over his chest, the anti-Watanuki simply stood there, silent, studying his doppelganger. There was the spineless one, the one that was cursed to lie with leeches.

Watanuki hadn't been able to fall asleep at all. He'd spent what seemed like ages rolling in his blanket and trying to find a comfortable position, but he knew that the lack of sleep wasn't due to the lack of bed. He'd been able to sleep well enough in the past week and he hadn't been much more comfortable than today.
He kept thinking about the things Domeki had told him. He'd tried to convince Domeki that the clone only meant harm and that he himself had never even thought what the clone had said, but he didn't know if his words had helped.

It was true that Watanuki found Domeki annoying, often a nuisance and always in the way of private time with Himawari. But he was also his best friend, even though neither of them would ever admit it out loud.
These clones seemed to know everyone's weakness very well, and Watanuki was scared at the idea of meeting a clone of Domeki.

Domeki was, at the moment, asleep in the other corner of the room. Or at any rate he was pretending to be asleep better than him. He was probably being very annoying, rolling around like that.
Watanuki eventually decided to get up and grab a bottle of water. He tiptoed silently to the room that was being used as a common room of sorts and took an unopened bottle of water, tipping back his head to drink and wishing that they had some glasses.

It had been a rough day. Aside from meeting up with Tink and Domeki and trying to enlighten them, he'd kept low. His stomach was still screaming, though it was not only with pain, it was also with hunger. Without knowing why, Watanuki had followed some odd sixth sense to the museum. It appeared that like really did call to like. Not knowing where to go, though, he had curled himself up in the corner of the common area until he was certain that everyone was asleep.

Standing, he watched as someone entered the room, and he was more than a little surprised to see himself. Taking off his glasses, he rubbed them with a corner of his shirt and put them back on. His other self was drinking water. Did he do that often? For some reason it didn't stick out in his mind.

He decided it would be best to leave quietly. Unfortunately, he had been gifted with the same degree of grace and subtlety that the real version possessed. His foot hit a creaking board, and he knew that he was close enough for him to see himself.

Straightening up, he resolved to meet himself head on. He stared at himself, his hands sliding into his pockets, eyes looking at the real Watanuki over the rim of his glasses. "You shouldn't be up," he said, no sign of his earlier malice in his voice. Being mean to oneself was a little masochistic.

Watanuki jumped when he suddenly heard a noise behind him. He turned and spilled some water down the front of his shirt at the sight of his clone.
"You!" he exclaimed before he could stop himself. A lot of thoughts filled his head, first and foremost that the museum wasn't as safe as he'd believed. At least he'd been the one to meet the clone this time instead of Domeki. He looked nervously at the door expecting people to come running at any time and cursing himself for being so loud, but it looked as if everyone was fast asleep. The museum was quite large and the sound probably hadn't carried across all the rooms.

"What are you doing here?" he asked, deliberately ignoring the clone's question.
He clenched the bottle and held it in front of him as if it could shield him, shaking at the thought of everything the clone had done to his friends.
"Who are you? Why did you say all those things to Domeki and Tink?"
He couldn't stop himself from asking all those questions. It was unbelievable that the person standing in front of him looked so much like himself but acted so differently.
