Domeki narrowed his eyes at Watanuki. He took a long moment to study the slender body of his friend but there was nothing obvious to mark him as a fraud - all was as he remembered, right down to the golden eye. Domeki still couldn't shake the feeling that there was something off about the Watanuki standing before him but he felt that it had largely to do with the words and the attitude currently being presented. He had never known his classmate not to show concern for someone in need - even, or sometimes especially, if the someone was a stranger.
"You seemed to like Shannon a rather lot yesterday," he ventured. Domeki was doing his best to keep an even voice even as he searched for some way to test the person before him. "You did spend drink most of the night away with her, didn't you?"
"I left her alone because I thought you would be there with her," he admitted with a casual shrug. His expression still held at a cautious neutral, not feeding anything back. "I thought I could go find Bell if--"
His thoughts and words were interrupted by the sound of a feminine voice and Domeki found himself staring in surprised amusement as a short but beautiful girl ran over to join them. It wasn't hard for him to place the spirited girl as a larger version of Bell and he managed a smile and a laugh when she threw her arms around him. The kiss to the his cheek, as well as the tingling which followed, came as a surprise to him but he seemed pleased enough by the show of affection.
"I'm glad that you're doing alright, Bell. I--" His words trailed away as he found himself shoved to the side and Domeki again watched in confusion as Watanuki knelt to kiss the back of the fairy's hand. A faint frown tugged at the left corner of his lips but he held his silence and simply watched - for now.
