Kimihiro Watanuki ([info]aprilfirst) wrote in [info]vas_captio_rpg,
Shannon... the museum...
Watanuki nodded vaguely. He felt awfully sleepy, but he couldn't fall asleep here and now. But it was so cold!
He didn't even manage to muster the strength to complain when Domeki gave him one of his coats. It was heavy and weighed him down even more, but he wrapped it more tightly around him with one arm and he started to feel a bit better.

He heard Domeki say something, then saw him move away out of the corner of his eyes. "Wait!" he called out, slowly trudging after him.
Domeki was clearly walking slowly, carefully pressing down the snow, but even so he was so much faster than him. Watanuki shook his head to try and stay focused. Lots of snowflakes had fallen on his glasses and he saw everything as through broken glass. It was making him dizzy. He tried to wipe the worst of the snow away with a sleeve but he only managed to smear the snow around more evenly.

After a while, he started to feel cold again. It wasn't a matter of one or two jackets, the water on his shoes and trousers was practically frozen now. He could feel his legs going numb, and Domeki probably wasn't faring any better.
In an effort to keep his mind off of this, he tried to strike up a conversation. He searched his mind for something - anything! - to say. Nothing. It wasn't easy, talking casually with Domeki. What was he interested in? Archery, food...
"When we get to the museum, I could cook dinner for everyone as a thank you for letting us stay," Watanuki said lamely.
