Jenny felt so warm. Deliciously warm and she smiled even before she thought about opening her eyes. She wanted to burrow down beneath the covers even further and forget the entire nightmare she'd had of the glass cage and the strange people. She must have dozed in her trailer in between takes because she knew she'd already woken up this morning. She felt well-rested and comfortable, drowsy and perfect. Beautiful golden sunlight streamed across her face and she turned from her back to her side in a languorously fluid movement.

Then her fingertips grazed skin. She smiled and snuggled in closer. "Mmm, you stayed," she murmured to Nikki and realized that the two of them must not have gotten up at all today. She was surprised that Tina hadn't burst in blathering about responsibility. This was heavenly and Jenny was not about to give it up just yet. "What time is it?" she purred, her eyes fluttering open slowly to the sight of her blanket-covered sweetheart turned away, sleeping still. She smiled and leaned up slightly to kiss Nikki's neck to awaken her and then froze. "What. The. Fuck."

Locke simply could not remember a time when he felt warmer or more at ease. Sleep was never a stranger to him but the latter years typically found him resting rather precariously on the ever-shifting boards of a ship or on the less-than-satisfactory beds of the lower grade of hotels; this, on the other hand, felt as warm and as pleasant as the beds in the hidden rooms under the temple of his youth. In this pleasant state, he was fully willing and ready to dismiss anything that had happened in the last few days of his memory as a bad consequence of drinking a touch too much of his favorite brandy - it was silly, wasn't it? Thinking that he had been thrown to some abstract future where he had to live his life in a glass cage? Really, just another sign that he needed to cut out the drinking before bed.

A slow stretch started at the small of his back and worked its way through his languid body - but, as soon as he felt a warm body snuggle against him, Locke came to the quick conclusion that he wasn't ready to try getting up just yet. His mind, slow with sleep and half-realized dreams, made it easy for him to believe that it was his Sabetha curling against his back in a most pleasant sort of way and he wasn't about to let her go again.

"Mm, it's barely light out. I would guess that we still have some time for ourselves. Let's make the most of it, what do you--" Locke had been rolling over to face Sabetha as he spoke but his own words died on his lips when he opened his eyes - only to notice a severe lack of beautiful red hair or any other familiar features.

"You. You're not..." he murmured in confusion, his forehead furrowing. "Who the hell are you and just what the fuck do you think you're doing?"

Oh, charming first impressions - but Locke had spent too long being too careful about where and with whom he fell asleep to not think that this was yet another trap into which he had mindlessly blundered. He could only imagine what he'd end up losing his time.

It wasn't hard to imagine the shock he felt at seeing her. It was the same shock she felt upon realizing she was in bed with a man. Scooting backward, clutching the blanket to her naked chest as more of a deterrent from his possibly seeing the scars on her skin than of any sort of need to be modest. She was comfortable with her body but this was a little bit much. Men were the cause of most of her problems and she was not about to give him any kind of fuel for later on when he'd calmed enough to begin demeaning her for her self-inflicted wounds.

Her expression hardened slightly and she arched her dark browns together as he asked what she thought she was doing. "I woke up just a minute ago. I'm not doing anything but what the fuck did you do to me? Oh I just bet you're the one who drugged me and dragged me to this godforsaken glass cage! For what? So I could be your little toy? Well not me, thanks."

She stood then, yanking the blanket away from him and backed away, seething. Shannon had been right. Experimentation. This was a really sick place and whoever he was, he wasn't anyone she recognized. Her anger wasn't holding though. The initial shock had propelled her into a furious response but the further away she backed, the more she felt herself beginning to tremble. She had no idea what was happening to her anymore and no way to protect herself. Jenny was suddenly terrified of the vast possibilities in this place. Her eyes went wide as her face paled past its usual soft, translucent shade.

"Oh yes! That's exactly it!" Locke had a difficulty holding onto his temper at the best of moments - and this most certainly was not his best moment. He could feel his voice rising as he spoke and his expression darkened as he climbed to his feet. Scrawny in just about every sense and bearing his own scars, he held the vague knowledge that he likely appeared rather comical - but his frustration at near everything that had happened since he had awakened in this place seemed to want to rush forward and he found that he could do little to reign back his tongue. "I schemed and plotted all along to drag some piece of fluff I know absolutely nothing about to some world that's completely alien to me so that I could use her as a toy for my desires. You know, the scheme would have worked out fine, too, if not for the fact that I somehow got myself trapped here right along with you."

All the anger seemed to leave him at once and Locke deflated. He slumped to sit on the floor and stared blankly at the pattern of the boards of the stage. Some part of his mind, that which didn't want to deal with any of this, marveled at the fact that he had apparently managed to have relations after this long - but the rest of him was too busy brooding to take any notice or amusement. All sewn up. He was all sewn up in a completely foreign situation and, to make matters sweeter, it seemed he didn't even have exact control over his own actions.

"Gods, I'm getting so sick of this," Locke muttered under his breath. Shifting his attention, he finally took notice of how pale and distant the woman had grown and he felt foolish for how he had initially reacted. He lifted his voice to address her but he couldn't quite manage any expression beyond a dull neutral. "Listen, I'm being stupid and I shouldn't have said that. This whole situation is shit - but I doubt you had anything to do with it."

Jenny's expression of terror continued in spite of his nasty little rant. He said everything that anyone who had been caught in the middle of doing exactly what she had accused him of would say. That was the biggest problem with this place. Shannon said she needed someone to protect her but how could you trust anyone when any one of them could be one of them? She regretted having spoken to him at all then and resolved to keep her mouth shut about anything but the task at hand if she could help it. The task at hand being getting dressed and finding somewhere else to be other than here with a strange, naked man.

She watched as he seemed to drain and realized that either he was the best actor she'd ever met or he was actually a lot like her. Which seemed strange so she opted for the former and pulled the blanket tighter around her slender form. "You're sick of this?" she asked. "This is the second time someone has drugged me and I've woken up in a strange place near a strange man. Albeit the first man wasn't naked but what the fuck?" She could hear her voice trembling and wanted to stomp her foot because it was so stupid.

"Who are you?" she asked flatly, her voice as emotionless as she could make it inspite of the tremble. Her eyes flitted around the features, never straying from his face but not in the way one might force themself not to look at someone naked for fear of being rude. Faces, especially eyes, always held for Jenny the clues to the person's inner thoughts and intentions. If they showed something of interest to her, then and only then would the body be of interest.

"Quite sick of it, to be frank," Locke agreed dully. Just how many times had it been that he'd had to wake up in a strange place either tied up or naked or writhing in pain? That wasn't even counting the other times that he simply found himself under the weight of the machinations of someone else - someone who believed that they were more clever than the godsdamned Thorn of Camorr. The novelty of being used was wearing quite thin and he certainly wouldn't be sad when the trend came to an end. He glanced up curiously at the woman when she mentioned that she'd been through all of this once before but a moment of prudence gave him the grace not to press for details. Instead, he managed another wan smile as he shrugged his narrow shoulders. "What the fuck might be exactly it, madame. I can't really guess who might be behind this but I do think it would be safe to assume that he or she rather enjoys watching."

He didn't flinch under her close scrutiny. Rather, he took the moment to search her face and posture for the little clues that could tell him just how to best handle the situation. As for his own features, he had already begun to slide easily into the persona he had chosen and his expression reflected this. Superficially, his pale gray eyes showed only a polite sort of puzzlement but the mind behind the eyes could never be entirely obscured. "Leocanto Kosta," he introduced himself with a slight incline of his head. "And what might I call you?"

His facial expression seemed to cycle through a few emotions, some of which were too fast for Jenny to catch. But maybe she was just reading into things. He almost seemed to mirror her mood and mannerisms which was a little unsettling to her. And he'd called her 'madame?' The niceties of language of a gentleman from somewhere far removed from the here and now and the United States of America that was for damned sure. Jenny canted her head, dark hair spilling across part of her face almost demurely, a move she had used to both conceal true fear or tempt in the past. Right now it was meant to convey the fact that she was unsure and hoping he had more answers than she did right now.

"Madame?" she asked, her tone elevating with slight interest now. "I'm sure they do enjoy watching. What do you suppose they expected us to do? Or," and Jenny swallowed hard against the bile rising at the thought that she might have done something she didn't remember with this man, "what do you suppose we did?"

Still wary of him, having seen exactly what she should have seen from someone who did not want her to believe him to be responsible for this situation, Jenny nibbled her lower lip for a moment. She was building strength into her face and her voice so that it did not tremble when she spoke this time. "Jennifer Schecter," she answered, bunching the blanket into one fist so she could extend her hand for him to shake. "Most people call me Jenny. Nice to meet you, Leocanto Kosta."

Locke - or Leo, as he was becoming accustomed to being - watched the woman curiously. It could be said that he was a student of unspoken languages, of understanding what it implied when one stood like this or held their expression like that - and he was having only the slightest of problems in reading that this woman before him. Unfortunately, all he could read from her was that she was every bit as confused and put off by the situation as he and that did very little to help him solve the mystery of the how and why of their current dilemma. If there was thing that he hated more than being sewn up, then it had to be not being able to tell just how he had gotten caught.

"Ah, forgive me. I didn't take you for a lady of standing but I will mind my tongue in the future, should such be the case," Leo responded fluidly to her elevated tone and he even added as much of a bow as could be offered from his current sitting position. Indeed, Locke was beginning to fade once more into Leo. "Forgive my presuming, madame, but there are only a small number of things which could have transgressed to allow for the eventuality of the both of us awakening as we did." He did nothing to keep his own doubt from reflecting in his tone as he spoke but he did make the effort to keep his true opinion from showing - instead covering all with a slight show of embarrassment. "Why they would wish such a thing from us..." He allowed his voice to trail away as he shrugged. The shrug was meant to convey a sort of helpless confusion but he couldn't quite keep a hint of bitterness from intruding.

"A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Jenny," he responded as he pulled himself to his feet. Knowing that it would be proper for the persona he was putting forward, he acted a bit shy of revealing his naked body to her again but he didn't refuse her offered hand. "Please, you only need to call me Leo, if it will be easier for you. I know my name can be a bit of a mouthful."

Jenny stared at him blankly for a long moment before her brows furrowed slightly in confusion. "A lady of standing? No, I... I think you and I must be from very different times." She had to work to not imitate the gentility of his tone and speech. She had the inclination to call him "sir" and curtsey or some other such nonsense that would have made her feel even more foolish than she did now, standing with the blanket wrapped around her while he was forced to be naked. He didn't seem to mind though.

Jenny felt her respect for this guy begin to grow. There was something to be said for someone who was comfortable with himself, especially when it was not all that warm and he was at the disadvantage. At least, that was how she saw it. But she was not about to offer him the blanket.

"I'm from Los Angeles. Um California. And it's the year 2008 there. There are no ladies of standing and chilvary is definitely dead."

She found herself fighting, unsuccessfully, against a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. She took his hand and shook it gently but was suddenly unsure if a man who spoke the way he did would shake a hand or kiss it. It made her feel unsettled and she laughed lightly to mask her discomfort.

"Well, Leo, just what exactly do you think happened? I'm not sure and I don't know if I want to guess either."

Leo just barely managed to swallow a bitter laugh in response to her statement about the two of them coming from far distant times. He also just barely managed to keep the polite smile at his lips as he struggled against the bitter ache of knowing that it was entirely possible that he'd never again encounter another who knew of anything which was familiar or dear to him. "Ah, in that, I believe you're likely more right than you know," he responded smoothly. "To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised in the least to find that both our whens and our wheres are quite different, indeed."

A small part of his bitterness was waylaid by the fact that the woman seemed to be beginning to relax a bit around him - and that, in turn, allowed Leo to feel a little bit less tense. The realization that the only immediate danger was perhaps freezing to death in his current state of undress gave him back a bit of his lost dignity - which, in turn, made it easier for him to not do anything as foolish as to ask for part of the blanket which she had claimed for herself.

"Los Angeles, California in the year 2008," Leo echoed with as close to good humor as he could manage. "I fear those words mean little to me - aside that I believe I heard of a place like that from one of the other captives of this place. I would imagine, then, that the worlds Tel Verrar or Camorr in the year of Aza Guila would mean little to you?"

Though a simple handshake would have done, Locke found himself rather inspired by the fact that the beginnings of a smile seemed to be shaping her lips - because of this, he couldn't quite resist bending over her hand and lightly pressing a kiss to the back of it.

"Conjecture would be just that - I can do little more than guess as my memories of the evening before seem to be a touch...fuzzy." He dropped his eyes quickly and glanced to the side in what was meant to be read as a show of embarrassment - even if it was more truly a show of frustration. Normally, he could only find such uncertainty at the bottom of a bottle and it annoyed him that his memories were floating just out of reach without the aid of the Captain. "Perhaps it would be best for us not to play with the temptation of guessing? It might be safest for us to keep our feet firmly on the ground instead of leaping to the first answer."

Jenny felt suddenly a bit self-conscious. Out of her depth with him. He was very gentle, sure of himself but not arrogant, and he had a sweetness under it all that she hadn't encountered in a very long time. Not since she'd first met Tim... She smiled fleetingly at him and then laughed softly. "No, you're right. They don't mean anything to me." She sort of wished they did though. If only to find more people who would be so pleasing in spite of whatever unfortunate situation they found themselves in.

"You're right. I don't think I want to know if they made us do something we wouldn't have normally done. If we can't remember it, it didn't happen. Right?" She felt herself let go of the final thread of what she thought she'd been trying to unravel in him - the plot to their being here naked together. She could believe now, fully, that he had nothing to do with it. Maybe that had to do with his charming accent or his proper manners toward a lady. Albeit a lady far above her own morality level but she could almost imagine she was that good when he spoke to her.

"I- here," she said and sidled up to him, offering him a corner of the blanket and not looking to see if he took it or not. She could not in good conscience make this man stand around naked when it was so obviously not the fault of either one of them that they were in this situation. Her eyes held amusement at the situation and a warmth in them as she looked off into the rafters of the ruined theater. She wanted to smile but it seemed like the wrong time to do so.

"We should try to find something to wear. Or our own clothes. Maybe they're hidden in the rows?"

There was precious little hope left to be dashed by her words and so it was nothing to allow only the slightest folding at the corner of his lips. Slowly but surely, Leo was slowly coming to terms with the fact that he was, indeed, quite lost and quite a far bit away from home but even coming to understand the idea of everything familiar being lost wasn't the same as fully accepting it. Still, there was something to be said for everyone being so polite about being from the far distant future of a possibly alien land. "Ah, I had feared as much," he sighed slightly as a wan smile shaped his lips. "I believe that the world I knew must have folded itself into oblivion a long while ago. I suppose that leaves little for me to do but to adjust to this new place, hm?"

"Perhaps forgetting would be the kindest cure," he agreed with an inclination of his head. The words came easily and naturally enough to him, but Leo wasn't entirely sure that he was quite so willing to forgive and to forget - especially not when there were already so many wrongs stacked against him. Of course, he felt no need to reveal his nature of carrying a grudge to the woman and so he offered her a slightly awkward smile. "Though forgetting that I have met such a kind lady would not be quite so easy. To have you as a companion in this less than ideal situation has been a blessing for which I am glad."

He found that he was quite beyond the idea of chivalry or pride and so he accepted her offer of a corner of the blanket with a small murmur of thanks. Now that the issue of modesty was covered, Leo turned his mind to the idea of finding a graceful escape from the situation for the both of them - and hopefully one which didn't include running naked into the snow for a mad dash back to safety.

"I'm not sure that they would do us the courtesy of leaving our own clothes lying about, but it wouldn't hurt to check," he agreed. "Or, failing that, perhaps there are dressing rooms at the back? The gods alone know what we might find there but even the gaudiest of costumes would probably be preferable to a naked dash in the snow."

Jenny felt herself automatically react in the old, familiarly girlish way when he called her kind and expressed his appreciation for having had her there if they had to be there at all. Her cheeks flushed prettily and she swung her hips from side to side once in embarassment. "Thank you. You're so sweet. I'm glad that if we had to go through this, you are at least a gentleman. I'm sorry that your time is long gone. I have a feeling mine is too," she said, trying to hide her face in the edge of the blanket before offering it to him.

"Don't shoot me but I'm kind of glad that everything is missing if only because I had this horrible brown bottle marked with the words biohazard and antidote. I figured it must be important because nothing is accidental in this place, but I really didn't want a biohazard on my hands. You know?" she asked, her tone belying the fact that she her mind was really focused elsewhere. Like where her clothes might be. As nice as he was, being naked with Leocanto was not her idea of a fun time.

"Oh!" she said, processing what he'd added. "There are dressing rooms. They were down a hallway behind a locked door. I'd gotten in through a window. Maybe we can force the door or something if we have to." She didn't relish the idea of roaming the halls of this place and doing anything that required giving up her blanket for the sake of finding clothes but it was better than being uncomfortable staring at each other for who knew how long.

"I always make an effort to be as gentlemanly as possible and I am glad that, if nothing else, we can find solace in each others company." Leo found himself somewhat charmed by her girlish reaction to his words and, this time, it was no effort on his part to offer her a smile. "If nothing else, this place does seem to disregard all times and places when it chooses its victims; it's no consolation but it does make one feel just a little less lonely and upset."

Leo would have been content enough to continue on with the steady pattern of his banter but his words seemed to dry up as soon as Jenny mentioned the fact that she had a small bottle marked with the magical word 'antidote'. He had been wondering if the ones who had taken him intended for him to die or if they would manage to produce the tonic he needed to be granted a few more weeks of life - and here was proof that the powers knew of his need and were willing to grant him a brief reprieve. "A small bottle marked antidote, you said?" He managed, trying so damn hard to make his tone as casual as hers had just been. "I don't suppose that you looked inside the bottle, especially if it was marked so?"

"It wouldn't hurt to have a look," he agreed more than readily enough. Though the blanket was a bit of help, the idea of actual warm clothes was very appealing to him and the idea of them being hidden behind a locked door seemed only a small concern. "I'm sure we can find a way to open the door, one way or another."

He was such a charmer. Jenny wondered if he did it on purpose or of it came naturally to him. At that moment she wished she didn't think that way, questioning other people's intentions, but she'd survived Los Angeles only because she knew that most people had ulterior motives. It would be so much nicer to just accept the fact that he really was a gentleman and enjoy the company. If she could do that, she would, she decided.

"Yes, you are right about that. I do feel less lonely and upset right now. It's not an ideal situation but at least neither one of us is a serial killer or worse."

Jenny's jaw almost dropped, molding her face into a withering look when he asked if she'd looked inside the bottle. Had he not been listening? Hello, biohazard? It was enough to make her want to shake him but instead she recovered gracefully with only a slightly sarcastic smile. "Look inside the bottle? It was a biohazard. I didn't want it anywhere near me. I wanted to throw it away but like I said, nothing here is accidental."

She shifted her weight from foot to foot a bit anxiously now. She wanted this whole thing to be over with and soon. She was getting cold now that he was in the corner of the blanket and it wasn't completely covering her anymore. Her skin broke out in goosebumps and other parts of her reacted to the cold as well in very unwanted ways. She was tempted to scoot over and press against him for the body heat but could not bring herself to do it. She wasn't cold enough yet for that.

"No, it wouldn't hurt," she agreed with a smaller smile than before. It would be a lot easier for them to make their way to the hall with the locked door if they both had clothes but it was better than nothing, she supposed.

"So we have to go back there to find the dressing rooms I'm sure," she added, pointing toward the dark hollow to the left and right of them at either side of the stage. That didn't look like a lot of fun either. Walking in the dark, naked. What a horrible place this was.

The concept of 'biohazard' was another of those slippery ideas the meaning of which Locke found that he could half grasp - he had the general idea that biohazards were things which most normal people chose to greatly avoid but he wasn't entirely sure what sort of hazard the bio implied. Even so, he did feel an immediate sense of relief when Jenny stated that she hadn't thrown the vial away but it seemed that he would have to be a bit delicate if he wanted to earn those few additional weeks. "You still have it on your person, then?" He asked the obvious question then paused when he realized that the antidote could well be wherever their clothes had been left. "Or was it left with the rest of your things?"

Her shifting from foot to foot brought his thoughts back to their current situation and, though he was doing his best to be gentlemanly about it, he couldn't help but notice that she was obviously quite cold. Not to say that he couldn't do with a heavy sweater and some thick breeches about now but he supposed he could suffer a bit longer.

"Here. I think it might be a bit difficult to make our way back through the halls with both of us sharing the blanket so why don't you wrap yourself nice and warm and I'll see about leading the way?" He offered with raised eyebrows. It was obvious even from the stage that the passage would be dark and perhaps difficult but he thought that he could stumble along without too much trouble - and better for him to stumble or fall than to let her get herself injured.

"I-" She giggled lightly when he asked if the bottle was on her person. She glanced down at her naked self behind the blanket and shook her head with a silly grin. "I left it in the dressing room with my 'survival' kit and some other things I collected for myself." Which hadn't been much. Just a few things that looked warm, a hideous Mexican mohair bolero, a horse's middle and the fuzzy hoofs, a tiara that she wished heartily he would not see when they got back to the dressing rooms.

Thankfully, Jenny took back the blanket and pulled it around herself. It felt good to not be shivering anymore and it was almost warm immediately. She smiled gratefully and a bit apologetically at him. "Thank you. Let's get our clothes quickly..." Her voice trailed off as she fought a pang of guilt for being so happy to have the blanket to herself. It didn't seem right to make him run around naked but that wasn't really her fault. It was the fault of whoever the sicko was collecting them here.

Jenny's mind was mulling over everything as it usually did and it suddenly occurred to her that he was asking a lot about this bottle she'd had in her survival kit. What could he possibly want with a bottle marked biohazard? Did he know what was in the bottle? She tilted her head to look at him curiously, her voice shrewd when she spoke again. "Why are you so interested in it?"

It was only after the words had been spoken that Leo realized just how stupid his question had been and he laughed lightly in acknowledgment of this fact. "Oh, so you did keep a hold on it." He did his best not to let his relief at this fact show in either his face or his demeanor - even if the task of somehow getting her to give the antidote to him without divulging his secret still lay ahead. "Hm? And what other interesting things did you manage to gather for yourself? I can't imagine much of use would be easily found in this place."

"Well then, why don't we see how well I can navigate blind," he murmured to himself as he crossed his stage to the dark passage beyond. As he carefully felt his way ahead, Leo found that he was rather grateful for the dark - not that he was nearly as humble or modest as he was making it seem but he had rather enough of having to perform naked for others after the humiliation which had earned him passage on the Orchid. And then it had at least been warm. "Do you remember which door it is? Or are there a series of doors?"

Leo felt himself stiffen under her shrewd questions and he scrambled briefly for some reasonable answer as to why he kept asking after the biohazard bottle. It did come to him that the truth could possibly work but he found that he really didn't want to have to answer a series of questions about why he had been poisoned. "Oh, it just seems quite an odd thing for one such as yourself to be handed upon your arrival. Though I haven't talked to everyone, I believe you must be the very first to be given a biohazard."

Jenny tilted her head, trying to make him out. He was so laid back and easy-going that it almost unnerved her at the same time as it soothed her. She had never known anyone other than Shane who could be so calm in the face of the stress they were both being put under right now. But even Shane would probably be doing some silly trick to make her laugh in spite of herself right now. Which was why Shane was her best friend and why it suddenly occurred to her that she might never see Shane ever again. The thought made a lump rise to the back of her throat and tears began to burn in the corners of her eyes but she was not going to let them go. No way in hell was she breaking down in tears in front of Leo over something that was beyond her control. Instead she coughed once to clear her throat and answered his question.

"Oh, just odds and ends to keep me warm mostly. There were costumes and other leftover things down there. Nothing you'd want to wear in public unless you had to. There was a lot of junk but I had a lot of time to myself last night."

Jenny made a face in the dark that she was grateful he couldn't see. She felt caught because she hadn't actually seen the theater from this side. Only from behind the door in the hallway. She hoped it would be easy to just find a door to the hallway marked "Dressing Rooms" or something like that. Which is exactly what she did see in what meager amount of light there was from a crumbled away part of the roof. "I think it's there," she said and pointed which was completely ineffectual considering it was almost pitch black back here and he wasn't looking at her.

She wasn't fooled for a minute that he was only generally interested in the biohazard bottle. It had been a pretty good save on his part but her own interest was already piqued. She would let it go for now though because it wasn't as important right now as finding their clothes or any clothes for that matter.

"Ah, that sounds just about what I expected," Leo responded almost absently to her description of what she had found in the dressing rooms. There was a note of disappointment to be found but this was mostly because he had still been clinging to the thought that there just might be something really useful behind locked doors. Then again, things of actual use appeared to be doled out in careful packages in this cage - and stolen away in the silence of night as well so he realized that his optimism was pretty much unfounded.

As he carefully made his way down the dim hall, Leo silently prayed that the lock on the door she had mentioned wasn't too dedicated. He knew that he could probably shoulder it down without too much difficulty but if it did come to trying to pick the lock then he'd quite honestly be entirely out of luck without the aid of his tools. There was a small chance that he could improvise in some way or another but it would make his life much easier if that didn't become necessary - which meant that it probably would be necessary.

"Hm? Where were you -- ow," he muttered as he all but walked into the door to which he hadn't quite seen her point. To his credit, Leo recovered quickly and he held a hand against it as he took a few steps backward. "I'm going to try to shoulder it open so it might be best for you to stand back - provided that you can see well enough to find someplace to stand."

Jenny listened to the sounds he made in the dark and wondered what he was thinking about. He was so quiet though that she had little to hear and more to wonder about than anything else. She was so far out of her depth here in this place. The midwest had been very claustrophobic and her life growing up as a Jewish girl had been even more so especially when she'd wanted to write instead of becoming something more "practical" like a doctor. But her tiny hands were not steady enough for the importance and her mind was too creative to want to be fixed into medicine. Then there had been LA and even the crazy rush and getting lost in it all was nothing compared to this place.

What was she supposed to do here? What was she supposed to do when they got behind the door and he found his clothes? He was going to leave her to herself and she knew it. Which would have been absolutely fine if it weren't for the fact that she knew she had no way back to the life she had led. And even the life she had led was nothing to be proud of now that she looked at it from an outsider's perspective. She'd really just taken one moment at a time with no real plan for tomorrow. Now that she had no idea what to think of for the next minute, let alone tomorrow, she could see that her life had been sigh a highwire act. She'd written about that before too without realizing just how important it had been a parallel to her real life on the whole.

"Oh, um, okay," she said in the darkness and tried to back away from the sound of his voice and the place to which she had pointed earlier. If he could shoulder open the door they were home free, weren't they? Even without the clothes they'd come in, they'd find something. She was sure of it. But then what? She frowned and huddled against the wall, feeling grateful for the darkness again because she was near frightened tears. "Be careful, okay?" she whispered.
