Who: Merope Gaunt & Sam Winchester
What: Waking up in the middle of nowhere, seeing a strange forest!
When: Morning on Day One (around 11am)
Where: In front of the clock tower.
Rating: PG for definite language
Status: Active

The limp body of the black haired youth had become aroused from slumber, she opened her eyes and looked at her body. At the time she felt kind of stressed, but the fact had lower significantly since she'd been awake. At this point, she studied the ground around her and realized that she wasn't in any forest that she knew. Merope knew something was wrong and she needed to get out of this damn place. Her hands pressed against the ground and she knocked her knees together so she could stand.

Her whole body was still feeling effects from the afterbirth of her child.

She wobbled on her feet, her hands moving to her chest and rubbing it slightly. Once she moved through the forest, her eyes fixated on a Clock Tower and her head tilted to the right slightly. Her shuffling steps finally overcame the forest and she walked closer to the Clock Tower, her eyes raised and fixated to the top of the building and noticed how run down it was.

It was better than staying inside.

Merope started to stalk around outside, her hands feeling to door for an opening. She thought to use her magic but defeated the idea quickly.

Sam gave a small gasp and opened his eyes. He was aware of the soft sound of falling rain before he felt it on his face and hands. He sat up, looking around the forest he was in and not remembering how he'd gotten there. For a moment he felt panic at the thought that the last two days had been another dream bestowed upon him by the yellow eyed demon. If that was true then...maybe he hadn't died yet. Maybe Dean hadn't traded his life for his own. He sighed, remembering the look on Dean's face when he'd admitted he'd made the same deal John and made for him less than a year ago and knowing that it'd been too real to be a dream.

He pushed himself to his feet, wiping his hands on his jeans. He paused, his hand brushing against a package in his jacket pocket. He reached in and retrieved a small package with Vas Captio inscribed on it. He frowned as he opened it and regarded the soggy matches, a packet of Tic Tacs, a pair of tube socks, a bottle of water, and a journal with a pen taped to it. Sam's brow furrowed as he looked around. Was this another test?

He didn't see anyone, but he did spot the ruins of a clock tower in the distance. He didn't remember a clock tower in Cold Oak, but he began moving towards it anyway. He decided for the moment that it would be better not to call out for for anyone, in case he'd been put in the middle of another death match. His steps slowed as he spotted a woman around the outside of the clock tower.

He stopped a few feet away. Alert and ready to fight if he had to. He wasn't dying again. "Hello."

She was a small thing, her limps were thin as was the rest of her body; she seemed not even strong enough to fight anything off. Her hands were messed with the door, it seemed rusty to some extent and she tried jerking it but she was far to small, far too weak to do it herself. After her jerking had stopped she wiped her hands on her tattered, long black dress and sighed.

There was no way in.

The moment a voice rang out, she yelped loudly and turned around. Her back pressed against the door and her head immediately went down, her eyes could barely look up enough at the larger male,"H-Hi.." Her voice was submissive, soft and easy to hear, but she didn't dare say anything more.

She looked as though she might sprint at any moment, at any sign of danger. Not like he couldn't catch her.

Sam studied the woman that looked more like a girl in front of him. She definitely wasn't Ava or Lily. Now that he was on the edge of the town he could see that this wasn't Cold Oak at all, but another ghost town with dilapidated buildings.

She looked like a ghost with her pale skin and tattered dress, but there was rust on her hands which meant she was corporeal. He moved forward a few steps, his hands in his pockets, and noted the way she looked ready to bolt away from him. If anything she seemed more scared of him than he was of her.

"Who are you?" Sam asked, his voice matching hers in softness as he took another step towards her. "Do you know where we are?"

Her heart started to pound feverish at the lanky male, she moved her arms so they were pressed against the door as well. Raising her arm, her mismatched eyes; one blue, one green, settled on his face from far away and stayed observant of him movements. It was clear she had no trust in men and the only reason she had stay in the first place was because of his appearance and nothing more. Merope liked the way he looked, she assumed him to be good based on that alone and nothing more.

Same wasn't Tom, she knew that, but she was unbelievably lonesome and it seemed he was all she was going to get at the moment.

Merope took a almost five minutes to answer him, she'd been so intimidated in the first place that her chest felt tight and she forced it out,"...Merope Gaunt. --No, I'm lost.. Mister." She frowned, her eyes descending.

Sam's face softened as she seemed to struggle with whether or not to answer him. It was possible that this was a trap and she was just waiting long enough for him to get his guard down so she could attack, but his gut told him that she needed his help.

He moved closer, though he was careful to keep his distance. "That makes two of us, Merope," he said, giving her a small smile. "I'm Sam."

He continued to study her, noting the way eye contact seemed difficult for her to maintain. He got the feeling he made her uncomfortable and so he didn't come any closer, though he did turn his attention to the outside of the clocktower. It was crumbling, though it was hard to tell how old it was. He was reminded of WW II footage after a bombing, except there was greenery sprouting through the cracks that looked like the cause had been more naturalistic.

He frowned, looking back towards Merope. "Do you remember how you got here?" He asked.

His fierce face finally softened, she seemed much less tense, less afraid of what he would potentially do to her. As he took another step forward, she felt her heart leap out of her chest and she made a soft, sudden breath in and quick exhale out. Merope seemed to be a simple creature, she wasn't sure that trusting him was a good idea so she stayed where she was.

"I like your name." Merope lowered her eyes, finally calming to slightly normal when his eyes left her and to the clock tower. She raised her eyes with him, she found her eyes staring right at him with nothing more than caution. "No, I had given birth, I was holding my child...but...I don't remember. I know it was real, I'm really sore here." Merope moved her hands to her hips, thighs and stomach.

"Did you see a baby?" She frowned.

"I can't get in, I'm not strong.." She said leaning against the door,"I was going to just sleep right here, but it's cold..." Merope sighed.

"Thanks," Sam said, giving her a puzzled smile when she'd said she liked his name. He hadn't actually ever been told that before, since Sam was so common. Then again, Merope didn't exactly look common with her tattered dress and odd name. Her actions too made it seem like she wasn't used to being around people.

He frowned at her as she told him what she remembered. It didn't sound like the same kind of abduction that he and the other psychic kids had experienced before. Now that he was thinking about it, he didn't remember the smell of sulfur this time either. All he remembered was riding in the Impala and trying to think of a place to start when it came to saving Dean.

He swallowed at the thought of Dean, worry making it's way into his stomach. If he had been taken again, so soon after the last time, he knew his brother would be climbing the walls. If he was alright.

"No, sorry," he said, trying to push that thought out of his head and focusing on Merope again. He looked towards the door. "I can try to open it," he said, nodding towards it. "If you want."

Merope looked around for a way out or a way she didn't need to depend on this larger male, but she had no other option. She easily moved to the side to expose the door that she'd been pushed against for the longest time, wiping the rust off of her hands and gesturing for him to try,"I-If it isn't trouble for you..." Merope leaned against the building, her arms covering over her chest and she stood tightly together because she was actually quite cold and tired.

The black haired youth didn't complain about the weather, even though it might not be cold for others, she was feeling it. There was little to nothing to keep her warm in the first place, so her body was hoping to feel whatever coverage from the air and wind that there was.

She turned her eyes away from him, feeling mildly upset for who knows what reason. It did somehow involve her husband though.

"No trouble," Sam said, shaking his head as he moved to the door. He, wiped his wet hands on the inside of his shirt grabbed the handle and pulled with all his might. The door barely budged.

Sam raised his eyebrows and stepped back, looking at it.

"Guess it's been a while since anyone's opened it," he said, glancing over at Merope. She looked cold and considering the way that the rain was still coming down, it didn't look like she was going to get any warmer. His mouth tightened and he reached for the door again, a look of determination evident as he pulled, digging his heels in the ground.

There was a loud creak as something unstuck and the door flew open suddenly, sending Sam flying backwards. He landed hard on his back, his teeth knocking painfully together. He huffed, a cross between a sigh and a laugh, as he stared up at the grey sky above. After a moment he rolled over on his elbow and began to get to his feet, trying unsuccessfully to wipe off the mud that now covered the backside of his jeans and jacket.

Merope stayed leaned against the building, shivering when it became slightly unbearable and stopping whenever it was. Her eyes moved to Sam, watching him like a deer with her mismatched coloured doe-eyes. Merope frowned with each defeated tug until he went back to it,"We'll never get in.." She sighed, looking around for something else perhaps.

Just as she said that, the door flew open and Sam went flying back onto the ground. Merope moved to his side and bent down so she was close to him, but she didn't say anything. A light hand went to his shoulder and she patted him, quickly retracting it when he started moving. Merope turned to face Sam, leaning against the opened door and waiting for him to go ahead of her.

She'd always been taught that she comes after everyone else, thus she held it open for him. "I'm sorry you are dirty, I shouldn't have asked..."

"It's fine," Sam said, shrugging as he gave up the losing battle to get clean. He swallowed and gave her a small smile, still trying to win her over. The cautious way she acted around him made him feel uncomfortable. "It doesn't really matter."

He looked towards the dark doorway, wishing he had some kind of weapon on him. Perferably a shotgun loaded with rocksalt or a cannister of holy water. Most people were afraid of the dark because what laid beyond was the unknown. For Sam it was because he knew all of the things that could be lying in wait.

"Thanks," he said, as Merope held the door open for him. He stepped hesitantly inside, noting the winding stone stairs on his left and the light filtering down from the broken clock face above. It was dim, but after a moment his eyes adjusted and he was able to see a little better. He glanced around the circular interior of the bottom floor. At least it was mostly dry inside. He moved to the right and picked up a large chunk of stone that had crumbled off of a stair, then moved towards Merope and the put it in front of the door to prop it open.

"I'm going to go upstairs," he said, glancing towards them. He looked at her for a moment before shrugging off his jacket and holding it out to her. "You can stay here if you want. I won't be long."

His smile was the easiest thing to look at, not many people did such but hadn't won her over just yet. Merope followed him in, staying closely behind him. It wasn't until he shrugged off his coat and offered it to her that she had lightened up a bit from before. Her hand easily reached out and took it from him, putting it on and looking at how small she was in it in comparison to him.

She frowned when he suggested that he was going to leave her downstairs alone. Merope came closer to Sam, her hands gripping onto his wrist,"D-Don't leave me alone." Her voice was as soft as it could be,"Please?" Merope didn't gaze up or anything as she hadn't the confidence to do that.

Sam looked down at the cold hands on his wrist and then at Merope. He fought the urge to reach out and put a comforting hand on her shoulder, not entirely sure how she would react.

"Hey, it's okay," he said, keeping his voice soft and steady. "I just want to see he lay of the land and that up there," he said, pointing towards the shaft of light coming through the broken clock face. "Is probably the best vantage point. The higher the better."

He gently tried to pull his hand back, but Merope held on. He licked his lips. "We'll go together," he said, raising his eyebrows as if he were asking permission before he started moving up the stairs, Merope following closely behind him.

He was relieved to find the top of the clocktower deserted, though the wind and the rain coming through the broken face of the clock seemed colder up here somehow. He moved towards the broken face and peered out at the deserted town below. He saw several buildings, though none of them looked like they'd been used or had seen any humans in several years. One even had trees growing out of the middle of it.

One thing was for sure. This definitely wasn't Cold Oak.

He turned back to Merope, opening his mouth to tell her that they should try to find a way out of this place when he felt a sudden pain right between his eyes. He squeezed his eyes shut, yanking his hand away from Merope involuntarily in order to press it to his forehead. He saw a petite blonde girl in a gray hoodie looking at him curiously and then what looked like a ground view of the town below. A moment later the vision was gone. He snapped his eyes open, looking at Merope with alarm. The YED wasn't dead. He was here. He was....his brow furrowed as he shut his eyes again and another vision came his way. This one much different. Sam's face screwed up into a look of disgust as he saw two men doing indescribable sexual acts to one another.

"Aaaagh," he half grunted as the image left as quickly as it came. He opened his eyes slowly, trying to blink away the spots that came from having them shut so tightly, a deep frown on his face. He looked at Merope, completely lost for a moment before his face relaxed into a smile and he laughed. "Andy."

He felt relief move through him as his smile widened. Andy was here somewhere, sending him images. Andy was alive. Maybe he had been wrong. Maybe everything before had been a dream. Ava hadn't gone darkside, Jake hadn't killed him, Dean hadn't made the deal. They still had the YED to kill, but...he had a second chance.

He glanced out the window, recognizing the tree growing out of the building as being the same as the building in the background in the image. "We're not alone. I know where some other people are."

Her hands held on so tightly to his wrist, she didn't want him to leave her behind and possibly for her to get lost or grabbed. She could feel his muscles tighten along his wrist and forearm as he tried to pull away, but she remained tense and sighed. Once she was being pulled along with him, until they were at the top of the building where the clock tower appeared to be deserted.

Her eyes looked around, having much difficulty as her eyesight was poor due to the whether. Sam appeared to want to say something, but he didn't and she thought that was weird. Merope felt a ridiculously hard jerk from him and she lost her balance, tripping forward and she fell to the ground. Her body was so small, so lithe that a great force was enough to throw her forward. Merope was lucky there was a railing or she might have fallen over, her hands captured it and she set down.

Merope figured that he wasn't as good as he appeared to be, he was making alot of noises and seemed to be slightly nutty. Her form huddled in his coat, moving her arms around her knees and pulling them towards her chest,"....Oh..." Merope didn't want to move, but there was no way that she'd say that.

She could hear her father's words calling her a coward. Merope lowered her head onto her kneecaps.

Sam looked at Merope, suddenly realizing that she looked once again like a little girl. Now that he wasn't being assaulted by pornographic visions he realized how close he'd come to causing her harm. He furrowed his brow and kneeled in front of her. "Merope, I'm sorry."

"My friend, Andy...he can send visions to people. Images. I wasn't expecting it." He sighed, pretty sure he'd lost all the trust he'd managed to build since running into her. "But he's here. He showed me where he's at."

He glanced towards the building with the tree, noticing that the rain had let up a little outside and it was almost quiet here inside the clocktower.

"There's strength in numbers," he said, even as he realized how wrong about that theory he'd been in Cold Oak. The memory made his jaw tigheten. "I'm going to go find him. Do you want to come with me or stay here? If you want to rest, I'll come back for you. Once I've found the others."

She stayed there silently, her hands messing with a few stray pieces of metal on the ground, throwing them around idly. It wasn't until he kneeled in front of her, her eyes raising to fixate on his face. Merope intensely listened to his voice, the way he explained and she nodded.

Merope lowered her hands onto the ground her knees knocking inwards and she bit her bottom lip, growing nervous,"You won't come back if you leave..." Merope frowned, saying it rather bluntly.

A frown tugged at the corners of Sam's lips as he regarded her. His brow furrowed slightly as he thought about the matter-of-fact way that she'd said it. As if she was used to being left behind.

"Yeah, I will," Sam said, his voice earnest as he met Merope's gaze. "I promise."

Merope was visibly upset, she knew in her heart that he would leave her, he'd walk away and not come back. She breathed a little more with difficulty and her head shook back and forth. She easily lifted herself and crawled a little closer to Sam and tucked her legs under her rear. No what what he said, she knew that she'd be alone again and who knew how long it was going to be before she found someone else.

Her mismatched eyes fixated on his face, her delicate palms resting on his chest and she clutched the fabric there,"Just tell me the truth, I won't complain, I promise." Merope whispered, unable to look directly at him,"Let me go with you, I'll be so good. It'll be like I wasn't even there." Merope begged Sam, begged him not to leave her alone.

She felt so alone.

Sam looked down at the small hands grasping his shirt in confusion. He raised an eyebrow, looking concerned.

"Merope, I am telling the truth," he said, frowning slightly as he regarded her. "And of course you can come with me. I just thought you were tired, that's all. The place where they're at isn't that far."

He glanced towards her hands. "Are you ready?"

Honestly? Merope was exhausted, her whole body hadn't recovered from her own pregnancy, but she didn't want to be alone. Everything could be sucked up and hidden for as long as they wanted, she couldn't help but feel a bit of anguish on her part but there was whining about. "I-I'm fine." Merope lied, horribly.

Her eyes watched Sam move his eyes to her hands and she retracted it. It'd been so long since anyone touched her and vise versa, that she couldn't help it. Merope pressed her hands against the ground and stood up, waiting for him to go ahead.

"Okay," Sam said, still looking concerned as Merope released his shirt and pulled herself up. He wanted to ask her if she was sure, but he thought that for some reason Merope wouldn't give him a straight answer. She didn't seem to trust him when he said he'd come back.

She seemed to hang back, waiting for Sam to take the lead and after a moment of hesitation he stepped forward, leading the way down the stairs and through the open doorway. Sam was relieved that the rain had let up some since when they'd first gotten to the clocktower and that his dry shirt would remain mostly dry for a little bit longer. He looked at Merope and gave her a small smile. "It's this way."

A small sigh escaped her lips, pulling his coat closer around her lithe frame. There was a part of her that was kind of uneasy around him, but she wasn't ready to be left alone. There was no way she felt comfortable falling asleep somewhere random.

She moved her hand and tried to keep her hands out of the sleeves but it was much too tedious. Merope rubbed her cheek, quickly following behind him and shyly averting her eyes from his smile,"S-Sam? Thank you for being so nice..." She said uneasily, but it wasn't without meaning.

Sam aighed through his smile, again fighting the urge to reach out and pat Merope on the back.

"Anytime," he said, feeling a little awkward about saying this in response to someone thanking him for being nice. He stuck his hands in his pockets and started making his way towards the building in his dream, taking small steps to allow Merope to stay caught up with him.
