"Hm?" Leo raised his eyebrows and smiled questioningly at the amused reaction. He naturally didn't take it for granted that Shannon was necessarily laughing at him, especially when she held up her hand in indication of just that, but he couldn't help but be curious as to what had so amused her when there was nothing obviously funny about the current moment. "Well, that's a disappointing reaction from a beautiful woman. I would claim that my ego was badly bruised but I think that ship sailed long ago." The fact that he was still smiling easily should have been enough to prove that his words were in jest but there was still that small part of him that was curious as to what had triggered her amused reaction.
The reaction which he could easily understand was the sadness Shannon was showing at the continued absence of her missing friend. Though he had arrived here without the comfort of his presence, Leo couldn't help but continue to look for and to wish for Jean's presence - even if he knew that it was entirely selfish to want Jean to be a part of what amounted to a nightmare. Because of this, he felt that he could understand what it was to long for a missing friend and so Leo smiled his understanding as he nodded to her latter words. "Well, what the gods fail to provide man supplies - so, if this Domeki of yours fails to show himself, I'd be glad to help you track him down."
"Oh but what man doesn't look his best in garish purple? I can't tell you how many long night I spent awake just wishing for a shirt like this to come into my life," he sighed dramatically as he picked at the oddly slick fabric of the garment. It really wasn't like anything he had felt before but he was beginning to have doubts that it was natural in any way. Despite that - and likely because it did seem to be distracting Shannon from her darker thoughts - he toyed with the idea of trying it on but he was soon distracted from that thought by the strange gesture Shannon had flashed.
It was clear that the gesture wasn't vulgar in any way - that much could be drawn from context - but it was still unlike most he had seen. His mind flashed nonsensically to the hidden hand signals which were a second language among his brothers but he knew that couldn't be it - why would she be using hand signals when there was no one to overhear them? Shaking his head, he fought down vague annoyance at another example of the gap between his experience and the current times but he hid this emotion well behind another easy grin.
"If you can find any of those, then I'll be glad to show you just how fine such an outfit can make any man look," Leo promised. He still wasn't sure about choosing something like that for a permanent change of clothes but he would be willing to try them on - provided he could find a room which could be used for that purpose.
