Who: Jack Harkness & Open
What: "I was billed as the man who couldn't die."
When: Day Two; ongoing during the day.
Where: The Carnival
Rating: Whatever rating a carnival where someone gets shot repeatitively would get.
Status: Incomplete.

There was something very not right about this entire thing and it stemmed from the fact that Jack Harkness did not wake up beside Ianto Jones. The second tip off was that Jack was someplace he remembered. Well, not remembered exactly... but it was enough to give him a distinct feeling of deja vu. The clothing wasn't right... he had worn a khaki uniform back then -- but the situation was the same.

Dear god, please. Don't let the Night Travellers be here.

This time, however, he wasn't the one pulling the trigger. This time, someone else pulled the trigger, shooting Jack squarely between the eyes.

2,483.

He came to with a loud gasp, much to the shock and applause of those assembled. The barker would wait twenty minutes until a crowd had gathered before burying a bullet in Jack's skull.

2,484.

This wasn't right. There wasn't anything about this place that was right.

2,485.

2,486.

God help them all.

Reid had wandered away from the fortune telling booth and its captive a little shaken, especially with what had Bern said. He was, in all honestly, ready to get out of the carnival and find somewhere to hide until he was once again allowed to wake up on the jet or in the office or at home or - well, anywhere but here. However, in his hurry to get out, he managed to stumble into earshot of the crack of a gun.

His head snapped up, the gunshot immediately rousing him from his daydream. He immediately looked around for where the sound had come from, hand scrabbling at his naked hip automatically for a while before he realized his sidearm wasn't there anymore.

He gingerly approached, rounding a corner to find a stage set up with a man sprawled out on it, a carnival worker with a gun stood over him. Reid instantly recognized the man on the floor. He aimed the gun, and Reid instinctually burst forward past the people who had gathered, reaching one hand out.

"Don't!!"

Rose may not have remembered everything about being in the glass cage before, but she certainly remembered enough to know that a carnival couldn't possibly be a good thing. A freak show sounded right up their alley, potentially featuring her friendly neighborhood werewolves, vampires, angels...or worse, an alien with two hearts.

So when she saw the advertisement, she knew she had to go see. Against her better judgment, she stepped into the 'attraction', looking around until she found the stage. And one of her closest friends, who she'd have sworn was dead anyway, held at gunpoint. Tears welled up in her eyes and for a moment, she simply stared in shock. Wouldn't it figure, she'd finally get to see him again and yet...

Though, really, should she even be surprised anymore?

She heard the somewhat panicked cry and whipped her head around, finding a slightly familiar looking face reaching out as if to stop the gunman. She rushed over, practically pummeling certain people in the crowd. "I don't know how to stop him!" she admitted, fear in her voice.
