Cheryl could only watch in open wonderment as the dark hair girl came awake and began to speak what sounded like nonsense. There was a brief flash of concern for how quickly she was breathing -- Cheryl could vaguely remember some kid in her gym class hyperventilating from doing that -- but it was the behavior which rooted her in place; the nonsense, the hyperventilating, the sheer strangeness - it all spoke to Cheryl of things which had been seen and hinted at amongst the most devout of the cult and that made it difficult for her to choose a course of action.
"Uh, hey!" She called lamely to the other girl, but she clearly had no intention of actually approaching her just yet. "If-if you wanna try to calm down maybe we can figure out what's going on? Besides, we don't know what you might be attracting, yelling like that." Paranoid? Why, yes, but Cheryl wasn't enough of an outdoors type to know what animals might be stalking about and she wasn't in any hurry to force introductions.
Realizing that the boy had come awake, as well, Cheryl turned her attention to him and she was momentarily relieved to note that he seemed fairly normal - in that he wasn't having a panic attack, at least.
"A forest would be my guess," Cheryl answered automatically, only regretting the sarcasm once the words were spoken. Shaking her head, she shrugged her shoulders slightly. "More than that, your guess is as good as mine."
