The 'about' in front of her age wasn't wasted on him. Just another of the tiny details that would sit and fester in his head. One day he'd have friends who could say exactly what they meant. "I feel like you're about the same age as before," he said thoughtfully. "Or maybe a year or two older? Around there, at least. I'm twenty-three." Andy's laid back voice in his head felt the need to remind him that at least she wasn't jailbait this go round, but he refused to think too much on it. Mostly because...well, Andy wasn't there.
He'd also let the fact that she knew people who could pull this off slide, too. It took a new level of evil to manage a mass kidnapping through time, and potentially space, too. Not to mention setting up whatever this place was before everyone got there. And doing it all over again. And erasing memories. Hell, that was evil even Helen Cutter couldn't pull off, and Connor really had a lot of faith in just how evil Helen could be.
Connor was okay with her letting him know flat out that this Gambit was no one he wanted to fight with. Funny how she knew that and hadn't even seen him in action. Though he'd come a long way since starting at the ARC, he still wouldn't put himself up against anyone in a one-on-one unless he absolutely had to. No, sadly, Connor wasn't afraid to let a girl fight his battles. "I guess," he replied, regarding Gambit's level of creepiness. Maybe the crazy redhaired bloke with barely a word of English was better behaved now that he'd been dragged back yet again. "Either way! Let's get going then. I could do with a bit of exploring, especially if it leads to food at the end."
And exploring meant he wasn't hanging around the library looking pathetic, waiting for a girl who wasn't going to show up. He felt it in his gut and hated it, but he had to go on. Only months ago, he'd forgotten Kimberly had even existed. He could keep going without her. If only he knew she was okay back home, he'd be just fine. "Can't deny, jeans do sound a lot nicer. These are comfy, just not long term." Shoving his hands back into his pockets, he started off in the direction that Ilyana had pointed in.
