Jack exhaled, lost in his own thoughts and didn't even hear the girl beside him approach. All he could think of was the dome above them. He was loathe to call it a glass dome because they knew from prior experience that it wouldn't break.
But that meant they were here, they were stuck here again. Jack beat his head against the dome, not caring how much it hurt. He needed something to dull the ache in the pit of his stomach, knowing that there wasn't anything they could do to get out of this place. And, to add insult to injury, people he loved and cared about were here -- so, once more, he had to take of them first. Didn't matter about him. There was very little that they could do to Jack that would cause any permanent injury.
Finally, though, he lifted his head when he heard the girl speak. Jack snorted softly.
"That? Why that would be the dome that keeps us in here and the outside world out there. Pleasant thing to see, eh?" Jack straightened, giving her one of his famous grins. "Name's Cap'n Jack Harkness. And you are?"
