Stephen paused, first from Spencer's stumbling speech, then from Shannon's voice piping up again. "With that determined stance of yours, you could've fooled me." he remarked, a bit of a smile pulling at one corner of his mouth as he looked at her.
Before he could start to answer her question a rather timid voice came from the bunker and Stephen looked over, arching a brow as he observed the latest captive to wake up. If a name had been mentioned the day before, Stephen couldn't remember it, and he didn't waste any effort on the man when he seemed content to stay inside the bunker. Whatever; he couldn't look after everyone, and he already had a young fellow whose quirks reminded him of Connor's to keep an eye on.
"He's pretty much right, if you're trying to pry something open. A padlock though..." He pressed his lips together a moment as he thought. "As sturdy as some can be, you'd almost be better simply trying to pry or bend the door open rather than trying to break the padlock." And then Stephen was second-guessing himself again, wondering if she could really fare all that well on her own.
