"Oh, totally," Shannon was quick to agree when Stephen replied that he hoped they all were okay. She was pretty sure they would be, but pretty sure probably wouldn't make him feel any better, so she bit her tongue against making the statement. "Shannon," she offered when he had given his name and she added a soft, "yeah..." rather than point out that the reason she hadn't bothered to give anyone her name or ask for theirs was because she was heated about being disagreed with and was acting like a baby about it. She was pretty sure Stephen knew it already, he was probably just too polite to point it out. Brownie points for him, she thought to herself.
Stephen asked if there was a carnival as Shannon started forward and she looked over her shoulder at them. "Yep, should've seen what it looked like after the earthquake; as if it wasn't dilapitated enough already," she sighed, but she gave him a weak smile in return for the amusement in his voice that was pretty much apparent, if subtle.
As she moved out of the bunker and into the light, squinting slightly out of reflex more than anything else, she heard Stephen talking with Spencer and as Spencer pointed out to him that maybe they shouldn't let her go off on her own, Shannon turned to face the voices only to find that Stephen had started off on his own.
"Actually..." she said slowly, her cheeks going a little pink. For all of her determination, Shannon had completely neglected the fact that she had no idea how to use a crowbar. She'd never even held one, much less tried to utilize it. "Uh, you guys don't have to come with me; that's fine, but, um, does either of you know how to actually, like, use this thing...?" she ventured sheepishly, holding the crowbar up a few inches for a quick second to pull their focus to it. "It's just I've never had to. You know, use one," she quickly amended. "And it's not like those guards are gonna give me time to stand there and try to work it out, so if either of you - or both - can kinda give me some tips on how to bust open a padlock, that'd be kind of amazing," she finished with a small smile to match the embarrassed tone of her voice.
