Day 29 - Morning
Who: Chris, Tonks, Merope, Jack, Selene. [Open to rescuers should any happen their way]
What: Another day locked up and toyed with.
Where: Carnival cage.
When: Day 29 - Morning, shortly after sunrise.
Rating: PG, likely to change.
Status: Active.

It was the sunlight that made the whitelighter stir, the warmth a foreign feeling after the constant moonlight of the day before. He was slow to open his eyes though, as two going on three days of no food and water were wearing on him. That, and stress, and having his powers stripped almost to the bone.

His mind drifted to Piper and the previous day's events but his memory felt almost tinged. As he forced himself to wake up more Chris could pick up on the presence of a witch, but it didn't feel like his mother. That seemed a little strange, given she had still been there when he passed out, but it was really no stranger than him waking up to find Piper there in the first place. Logic began to nag at him that he imagined her or some other trick was done, but Chris was in no mood for it. He cracked his eyes open, just enough to verify that the sun was in fact out, and then squeezed them shut, keeping his back to the others in the cage. He didn't want to open his eyes and see that Piper wasn't there, or that she was and was trapped and stripped of her powers like he was. He didn't want to see if there was some new horrible thing waiting for them.

Chris never thought the day would come but... but he almost missed the mildly apocalyptic world he knew so well, where demons roamed freely on the mortal plane and his brother shaped the world to his whim, hunting witches and ruling over the humans. At least there Chris knew what to expect. Here he couldn't seem to save himself, let alone anyone else.

Merope, as always, was sleeping much later than most people did. She had strange sleeping habits and often waited until she could pass out before actually laying down. When she heard the sound of someone shifting, she slightly groaned and began to move. Once she fluttered her mismatched eyes open, she saw Chris again.

Her eyes stayed on the dark-haired man, seemingly unsure of his appearance for some reason.

She didn't get out of bed, but she welcomed him to sit on her bunk beside her.

The vampire stood several yards away -- though within view of the cage were someone to look her way -- as stock still as she had been the day this all started. Given the minimal amount her chest moved for the occasional breath she might have seemed a statue, as Selene felt somehow less in control of her body this day than the previous one. She suspected it was something to do with how hard she had been trying to revolt against the management's control.

Her dispassionate brown eyes shifted to the cage as she heard people moving around, waking up, but her expression showed only mild interest. And that was mostly due to the smell of dried blood, which had been fresh blood at one time. Selene, though she would never admit it, was somewhat glad for the control seemingly interfering with her instincts as she would have taken far more interest in such a scent otherwise. No matter that the one bleeding was one of the few people in the place she knew. As the hours passed the vampire had plenty of time to wonder what might have happened or been happening to the others that she had come to know. Was Rose alright? Remus? She had heard no howls the day before but that meant little. It only worried her more, in fact.

Yet all Selene could do was stand there at her post, watching over the cage and hoping none would come to try and free them. It wouldn't be pretty if they did.
