Remy LeBeau ([info]ace_of_clubs) wrote in [info]vas_captio_rpg,

Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Remy LeBeau & Rose Tyler (The Doctor, Illyana and Sam, too?)
What: Rose and Remy end up waking up together.. attached.
Where: The Church.
When: Day 27 - 7:15am.
Rating: PG-13
Status: Dropped

Remy, last he remembered, had been snuggled up in a warm make-shift bed with the Doctor. It had been a nice feeling, sleeping next to someone again, the last week he'd been without a warm body next to his own, and though the Time Lord was anything but a 'warm' body, being as cold as he was.. and as Gambit woke, he was realizing that the body curled up and pressed into his own certainly wasn't cold, it was warm, human-warmth. Then he was realizing the feel of warmth against his normally covered palms. That was when red eyes opened and instantly snapped onto the face across from his own. Not the Doctor, but rather the girl he was in love with: Rose Tyler. When he tried to jerk his hands away, he found that he was stuck there, that his hands were bound to hers, from the heel of his palm to the tips of her fingers, all the way up, stuck in that case of sorts.

He jerked up some, pulling Rose a little and likely waking her up in the process. Cage. They were in a cage-- The cage in the church, the one he'd dismantled earlier the previous day. And in the church, not twenty feet away, was that shut door of the chaplin's office. The door Remy knew to be locked. And behind that locked door was the bed he'd made, the three-couch monstrosity that had settled him in quite well, the make-shift bed. The one that the Doctor had been left behind in. But as those red eyes searched the bed, he didn't find the other man. Another short jerk against the bonds that kept him so intimately tied to Rose. "C'mon, ge' up." He insisted quietly to her, eyes lowering to look down at her, locking on to hazel.

She was even starting to dream that annoying accent. Dammit. Rose would admit to anyone that he got under her skin. Even he knew it. He was an annoyance, a thorn in her side, and an overall pain in the arse. When it got to the point where she even heard him and hissed in her sleep? It was beyond petty irritation. No, she was much closer to loathing.

Honestly, she was getting used to being jerked around, living in that place for over ten days. She was also getting used to not waking up where she'd fallen asleep. Lying amidst her friends, she'd fallen asleep, her sweet Remus curled up beside her, whispering to Tonks late into the night, sneaking giggling little peeks in Chris' direction whenever she could. It was almost like being normal again.

But waking up? Anything but normal. Because when she was jerked around that time and heard the accent, her eyes fluttered open. Oh, hell no.

"What the fuck?" she blurted, not giving a damn how unladylike or how terribly impolite it might be. When it came to Remy LeBeau? Manners didn't matter to her one tiny bit. She'd have reached up and slapped him until she realized her hands were bound. To his. And they were in one of those damnedable cages. They weren't for Remus, or even Selene or any of the others. No. It now held her. And the arse who'd ruined her life. Fabulous. "You've got to be kidding me," she all but growled, much less quietly than he'd been.

"Y' okay, chere?" He asked in a bit of a more quiet tone, his eyebrows lifting slowly as he looked her over, making sure all limbs were accounted for, and then he was turning their joined hands a little, looking over the contraption they were inside, before he whispered a soft curse in French. That had just been mean and dirty, management. Taking away his only weapon like that.

"Took 'dis t'in' 'par' las' nigh', bu' here 'dey jus' pu' i' back t'get'er." Quiet words, small talk to keep himself calm (and hopefully her, though he knew it'd have exactly the opposite effect.. never in his life had he felt such a quick connection with someone and then dashed it just days following. He was quite certain there was no way to salvage this relationship now, not after she'd stewed over it for so long. Now she hated him, now it was over. She'd always hate him. But he really wasn't interested in fighting with her while attached to her, while in a cage. He had no interest in making Rose Tyler explode.

Oh, Remy really didn't want Rose to explode. Not that she could physically hurt him, though kicking and thrashing might have some effect even if slapping him wasn't exactly an option. Regardless, he was about twice the amount of muscle she was, even without his gift. But oh, did she have a mouth on her. If anything, Remy would be begging to get out just to shut her up. She'd have felt badly for him if she weren't still so very angry.

"You know, last time I checked? Louisiana was in America. Hurricanes, alligators, weird food. And I still can't understand a damn word you say half the time, you know that? Need a damn TARDIS just to translate." Okay, that might've been a little low. And, somewhere deep down, Rose might have felt a glimmer of guilt. Deep, deep, deep down. But she was pissed. Her comfy corner of the gym had turned into an incredibly uncomfy cage prison, and worse? She was stuck there with him of all people. Without even full use of her hands. Regular prisoners could move about and she couldn't? This was complete bollocks. "You couldn't just leave the damn thing alone like they told you, no, you had to go and screw around with it and piss them off. Fine, but why me?"

Was she whining? She was probably whining. Oops.

When she made fun of his accent, the older man rolled his eyes but let a smile creep across his face. He was about to say something more, but then she was bringing up his dismantling of the cage, and that he could be stuck in here, but why was she stuck with him? Well, that was very clear to Gambit.

"Firs' off," He spoke more slowly, eyebrows lifting as he did. "Sometime, I talk uh lil' fas', an' y' jus' gotta tell me t' slow down. 'Den migh' be uh lil' bi' easier t' understan' me." Hear that? Hear how much better it sounded, how much easier to understand, when he was straining to say everything just right? Almost like a Pikey, wasn't it, Rose? A Mick from across the water from you, with one of those thicker, impossible to understand accents. The Cajun's were America's answer to Britian's Pikey population.

"Secon'," This was also said slowly, so that she would understand. "'Dey ha' t' pu' someone in here wit' me, so 'dat I couldn' jus' ge' myself ou'." He lifted his hands some and wiggled his fingers a little against hers, though she'd have no idea what that meant, he knew, and that was what really mattered. Red eyes were lifting again, looking around the large church, for the Doctor. It was morning, wasn't it? An arm twisted a little to glance at his watch. Seven twenty in the morning. The Doctor had to still be here somewhere.

"We gonna ge' outta here soon, an' we gonna be fine, you gonna ge' far 'way from me, non?" If she kept focused on him, she might not worry so much about the noise he could hear around them.

Ugh. Did he have to be so damn understanding and reasonable? Okay, sure, with anyone else, she'd have craved that. If it were the Doctor, she'd have needed it. Remus would've provided it and she'd have been soothed. But when the Cajun did so? It really just made her want to scream in frustration. That? Was the bloke who'd greeted her by the thrift shop on that very first day. And that made her hate him ten times more. Because she'd come to think of that person as the fake.

"Fine, then, if they had to put someone with you, there's thirty-nine some odd other people here. I? Didn't have to be the one. Surely you've ticked off enough people around this town that someone else could've been your new mate." Tugging in vain, she sighed when she realized there was really no point in it. Leaning her head on her own shoulder, she frowned. "And you know, if I had to be stuck in here with you, they could've made a nice pillow or something. This is hell. And you're damn right. As soon as I'm loose from these? I'm going all the way across town and not looking back." Maybe she shouldn't be swearing quite so much in a church... God would forgive her. Surely even He could understand how miserable this was.

Maybe you shouldn't have been swearing so much, Rose. Then again, the Doctor had heard you curse before, hadn't he?

The door to that tiny office with it's ridiculous bed and tacked up curtains came open and a sleepy looking, lanky man came walking out into the middle of the church with a yawn. He'd pulled on his suit (which looked extraordinarily rumpled), though, he'd left his trainers behind. He was coming out to see what all the noise was about.

"Some of us are trying to sleep," he'd say groggily. He was still quite a few feet away and while he looked in the eye both the captives it didn't seem he was really seeing them. "You mind?"

He walked up to the altar and snagged his water bottle. Taking a long pull he sighed, rolling his shoulders a little. Maybe it was time to wake up.

Oh, Rose. That was where you were mistaken, the roles were switched, he was actually a pretty nice guy, but if you found out, he'd have to kill you, because he didn't want you telling anyone that he was a nice guy.

"Oui, bu' I wouldn' have any prol'em jus' hurtin' ot'er people, t' ge' myself outta here." This was reminded with a little lift of his eyebrows and a smirk, before he looked away from her and around once again. Not just anyone could have been his mate. Not the Doctor.. either of them.. since he couldn't hurt the two of them with his powers. It couldn't have been Jack, or Rogue, or Illyana.. And it couldn't have been anyone he didn't know, since he really wouldn't mind going through them to get himself out.

"You wanna lay back down, chere?" He'd easily ignored her bitchy comments about being stuck with him, and needing a pillow. And, of course, about running away and not looking back. Gambit could be a pillar of patience if he liked, but he rarely liked -- he didn't want to seem like a good guy or anything, because he wasn't. He was a bad guy, he was a thief-- A Master Thief. He was not a nice guy. "Wouldn' min' sittin' down." If she wanted to lay, that was, he could sit on the ground near her.

But then The Doctor was coming out and Remy stopped short, turning his head some to stare at the suited Time Lord. And he continued to stare, as the other man spoke so calmly, so carelessly. Like the two people he cared about most (Yeah, Gambit was vain enough to think that) weren't locked up in a cell together, with the Cajun in a very compromising position with Rose.. he could kill her, easily, if he got too excitable or if the people running this place set him off.

But the Doctor said nothing of it, he only asked if they'd keep it down. Remy's mouth fell open. Something was very wrong here. "Docteur, wha' 'de Hell y' doin'? Me an' Rose, we ain' doin' 'dis f' kicks an' giggles. C'mon an' fiddle wit' 'dat lock an' ge' us outta here." It was demanded in almost a light tone, like this was some sort of joke. But he knew it wasn't, the Doctor wouldn't take this sight so lightly.

And for once, the Londoner and the Cajun agreed on something. Had the Time Lord actually just looked at them as if their arguing--or, well, her arguing and his patience--inside of a cage was more of a nuisance than anything.

Okay, sure, a part of her had hoped he'd jump to conclusions. Get jealous, have to make a choice, something! But what he actually did? Was about a million times worse. Even getting mad at them both for being so intertwined would've been better than the grand brush off they'd just received. "You're kidding me, right?" she shot at him bitterly. "Right? Doctor? Okay, look, I know this looks bad..." Well, it did, didn't it? It would if the roles were reversed.

Though she was really sort of glad she hadn't gone and laid down. Or sat down more comfortably, even. This? Really sucked. "You have the key to this thing?" Someone had to. They wouldn't be cold enough to put it in one of their pockets, would they? With them not having access to their hands? She'd scream bloody murder, she swore she would.

Sam hadn't been far away, in fact he'd heard everything that had been said from his position lying down in a pew on the second row. He'd been staring up at the ceiling and trying to figure out this new experiment that had placed him in the church with the seeming inability to move or speak. The sound of the Doctor's footsteps and voice had caused him to sit up suddenly, though and he got a clearer view of the cage and it's inhabitants.

Sam pushed himself to his feet and walked towards the cage, placing himself between it and the Doctor. The fact that his body, which he'd been unable to budge a minute ago was now moving on it's own accord made Sam's stomach sink. He crossed his arms and stared at the Doctor all the while trying to figure out what the hell was going on. He had seen the cage before he'd passed it, but he couldn't make himself turn in it's direction or any direction other than that of the Doctor. His brow furrowed slightly, his mind jumping to the worst case scenarios. Was he possessed? Was this what being mind controlled was?

Fear crept up his spine as he tried to make himself uncross his arms and move towards the cage. "Morning, Doctor."

That was his voice. His voice but not his words. Sam's eyes widened almost imperceptibly. Shit.

The Doctor's brow's raised when Remy suggested he ought to go and work on that lock - that he should try and get them out of there. The thought went into his head, the wheels were quite obviously turning behind his eyes; but, it seemed to fizzle out as he took another slow swallow of water and shook his head. "Can't say I feel much for picking locks, not when I've got so many more tests to run on the modulator." He gave the Cajun man a cheeky grin.

As Rose spoke up, though, again the same process would apply. He'd heard what she said, let it run around his brain a little, and then something squashed it out. "No, no keys. Just a bottle of water," he shook it a little to illustrate.

The lanky Time Lord was rubbing at his hair, still not quite awake. He was dazed a little, evidently, as he recapped the bottle and walked up to Sam with a smile. Were they making friends again?

"Good morning, Sam Winchester. Looks like you're keeping awfully busy this morning," it didn't seem to bother him that the other man stepped so protectively between he and the cage. In fact, even the way his eyes went a little bigger didn't seem to phase the Time Lord who was giving a cheeky grin. "Haven't seen you around for quite a while, actually."

Voices inside the church snapped Illyana to attention. She'd been walking around the perimeter of the building, wondering what exactly she was doing and trying to make herself change direction. But her body wasn't responding to commands. At least, not her own. And that terrified her. No one, no one had been able to do this to her, not since Shan....

As the voices carried outside, Illyana found herself walking back into the building, bee-lining for the cage. She spied Remy inside, and her first instinct was to teleport inside and get him out of there. What she ended up doing, however, was coming to stand beside the man the Doctor was addressing as Sam, folding her arms in front of her.

"Good morning."

That hadn't been what she'd intended to say at all. She'd meant to say something along the lines of "what the hell is going on," but it had come out as "good morning."

Not like Shan, then. When the Vietnamese girl had possessed her, she hadn't been aware of what she'd been doing. This was more like.... Her mind shuddered. It was like Legion. Like someone had shoved her aside and taken over the driver's seat. The mental shudder transferred into a very slight physical one, barely noticeable even to herself.

What in the Hell was going on here?! Remy, as he'd watched Sam suddenly appear, and the Doctor converse with him. What? What!? "Docteur-- c'mon, Rose an' I, we kin'a really wanna ge' outta 'dis cage, woul'n' you?" He was taking a quick glance back to the blonde he was attached to, red and black eyes lingering only a second on her face before he looked back at the Doctor, and Sam who had come between the Doctor and the cage. What was going on? Why in the world was the Doctor acting like this was okay? And why wasn't Sam ask what was going on?

Then Illyana appeared and he caught her eyes. She didn't change facial expression, her eyes didn't widen, she didn't taken on a shocked look.. but Remy didn't need facial expressions to judge emotional responses, not really, he just needed a little focus. And while staring into the younger woman's eyes, he got what he wanted. Shock. A bit of panic. A quick glance aside to Sam got the same sort of response, and a look to the Doctor earned him confusion, but no worry, no panic like the other two.

Something was very, very wrong here. And at the same time, Rose would begin to feel a tickling in her fingers, in her hands, a warm sort of energy spreading into her hands and slowly down her wrist, into her arms. Speak up now, Rose, before he let that spread further and ended up making you into many little pieces of Rose Tyler, instead of a whole one. You'd explode in less of a literal way, and more of a physical way, Shop girl. Mind that.

"'Dey ain' in control, 'de two 'dem. 'Yana an' Sam, 'dey bot' freakin' ou' uh lil'. 'De Doct'r, 'dough.. he ain'. Jus' kin'a calm 'bou' 'de whole t'in'." Once again, he tried to be as slow as he could while speaking, so as to help the chances that she would understand everything that came out of his mouth. Of course, it was also a little harder for his mind to slow down so his mouth could form the words. "Gotta teach you some real goo' French, chere." So he could speak normally in French, and she'd be able to understand him. She'd only have to understand it, because she could speak in English and he'd be just fine understanding it.

King, who had been out and about this morning looking for something to eat, had stumbled across the scene at the Church-- how? Well, he'd walked down that long road and had noticed that woman walking around the perimeter of the Church. And that meant food, right? Why else would someone be guarding something unless it was food? Not that a cute little blonde girl could stop him.. but at least it might give him pause. Maybe she'd share on principle?

So, he had followed her slowly into the church, where his eyebrows had risen high into his hairline, because there in the middle was a smallish cage with two people in it.. two people who were locked together, hand to hand. That was about the strangest thing he'd seen in a long time. "What in the Hell is going on here?" The darkly dressed brunette demanded after a moment, looking from the two in the cage to the three outside it. Were these people part of the group running this place?

Illyana turned to the newcomer, her eyes narrowing at his words. He would be one to watch, she knew. But, why? Didn't he have a valid question? What the hell was going on? She wanted to scream it, but couldn't.

"Just move along," she heard herself saying. "Nothing to do with you."

Though she didn't speak up, Rose's eyes darted around the room to each and every person in turn. She hated admitting Remy was right, but he had to be. No, she didn't know Sam very well, and she knew Shannon had argued with him recently, but he wouldn't just stand there and let this happen. Not after reaching out to people like Remus and Selene. Remus. Aw, hell. He had the B on his hand. Where was he? Was he in one of the other cages? And good lord, what if he was attached to someone, too? If they didn't get out by the full moon...

Think, Rose, think...

But really, she was just irritated. Without a key? There was no way out. And clearly, the main person who could help them was taken somewhere into la la land. The Doctor. Her Doctor, as the one in front of her kept reminding her. He could still help. Or Jack. Selene, Chris, someone. Rose Tyler had friends in high places.

Well, that settled it then, didn't it? Giving Gambit a haughty expression, shaking her wrists a little in an effort to stop the tingling, she yanked him down as she dropped herself to the floor, sitting cross-legged. "We're not getting out of here with their help," she pointed out simply. "So...we wait. There are others, people who aren't going to stand for me being stuck in here. Especially with you. And when they show up, I'm heading to a corner of the forest and sleeping there and never looking back."

"It has been a while," Sam heard himself say back to the Doctor. Panic was buzzing around Sam's head as he tried to concentrate on moving his mouth to say something of his own instead of the words that were being said for him.

He looked to the left as a blonde girl stepped up beside him and said Good Morning. He didn't recognize her. Something about her stance and the way she positioned herself next to him and between the Doctor and the cage made him wonder if she was guarding the cage too. Maybe even controlling him.

He turned with her at the appearance of a tall dark haired man, dropping his hands to his sides as if he was preparing for action. "You heard the lady," Sam's voice said as he stared the stranger down.

He was being used to protect the cage, but why? He tried to turn his head towards it but couldn't.
