If Rogue was trying to stay away from idiots, she was in for a discouraging surprise. Derek didn't have many friends in Vas, and for very good reason: he was arrogant, idiotic, took everything for granted, and spent much of his time getting upset over the trivial. His vanity was off-putting, and he had spent a lot of time lately by a cracked mirror in the museum bathroom, admiring his reflection and trying to comfort himself with his chiseled features and stunning good lucks.
A few days of that got pretty boring, though. When Derek could pout no more, he ventured outside, staring up at the sky.
"Holy cheezits! I must have been out of it for longer than I thought!" he exclaimed, squinting as a couple of bugs. "Screw this! The... management could have given us some bug repellent, this blows." he flailed his arms angrily as he walked into a cloud of droning insects, bumping into a girl. "Hey! Watch where you're walking!"
