Cielo ([info]cloudlesssky) wrote in [info]vas_captio_rpg,
The more time he spent with this strange lady, the stronger his suspicion that something was slightly...wrong grew. It really wasn't anything tangible - aside from the faint glow that seemed to be all about her and the sunken quality of her eyes and the arm barely held there by silver staples and her willingness to admit that she held abilities beyond those of normal living humans. Cielo found that there just seemed to be a feeling, almost an aura, about her that forced his thoughts back to the long days in the Junkyard and how everything had changed when that pod had appeared on the battlefield.

Unfortunately, he couldn't make the logical leap necessary to accuse this wan woman of holding an atma mark, of being demon as all his past companions had been. Even if she was supernatural and outside of the expected, that didn't absolutely assure that she was anything other than an exceptionally special sort of person.

"You took the night watch on yourself? That's a lot of work for one guy - even someone super strong and fast and all. I mean, it doesn't seem like there's much going on right now, but if something does happen..." Cielo allowed his voice to trail away as he thought on the fact that this woman claimed to not need sleep or nourishment but nothing relevant seemed to come from either of those facts. "Oh, it just seemed like a good idea to have a look around." It was just a slight lie, a partial truth. "I wanted to get an idea of this place so I don't have to wonder around lost too much."

"Oh! I got here earlier today with two other guys - some weirdo with a mask and a medic." Cielo nodded. "I found someplace where I'm staying for now but I dunno if I'm gonna stay there. Guess it depends on if anyone else wants to use it."

Though she drew back quickly from him when he leaned in, she wasn't quite quick enough to keep him from catching the scent about her - and the lowest scent under them all was one which Cielo recognized well from the many battlefields he had seen. It didn't make any sense, though. That was the scent of those corpses who would go on to become the silver rain, not that of a living being.

Before he could follow them to any logical conclusion, Cielo found himself pulled from his thoughts by her accusation that he was not human. He could feel the heart within his chest begin to race and his eyes widened at her - but even his very basic understanding of emotions allowed him to see that she wasn't showing signs of fear or danger; rather, it almost seemed as if she was simply stating a fact.

"You're no human either," he countered, not unpleasantly. "I don't think you're anything like me or the others but you're no civilian either. I guess we have something in common, huh?"
