It was the smell that had drawn him - but Cielo had found it to be more of a 'stink' once he was actually inside the dilapidated building. The smell of blood and flesh had all but pulled him through the large doors and it guided his light, soundless footsteps deeper still, but he had stopped himself when he saw that there was only the remains of a slaughter and feast - pale stains of vaguely cleaned blood, remains of a fire, and that heavy hanging scent. He had no interest in looking deeper for meat which wouldn't be there and a slight weight in the pit of his stomach (disappointment? hunger? boredom?) guided him back to the clean air of the night outside.

This air, too, was a strange new experience and one which he hadn't yet fully acclimated to; it was good, he had finally decided, to have air that was clean and cool play against the bare skin of his arms and legs but it was still weird not to have the constant light pressure of silver rain always on him. He definitely liked the look of the sky, the bright yellow sun during the day and that strange silver disc at night, but some part of himself kept tugging at each impression, making that strange heaviness in his chest even worse by reminding him that it would be even better if all of his comrades were here to experience this. He hadn't yet given up hope that the rest of Embryon had yet to be found in this strange Nirvana but each hour that passed only fed the heavy weight in his chest which he hadn't yet named.

Still, even under the weight of these unfamiliar things, Cielo couldn't escape habits from his days in Junkyard. Then, being small and agile, he had often acted as a scout and so it was now; walking streets that were deserted under the silence of night, he searched for a place that could act as a decent shelter. His preferences, he mused while crossing his arms behind his head, seemed to lean toward someplace elevated and private, but he wasn't sure that left many options. There was one particularly tall building in the town, but Cielo wasn't entirely sure about setting up there, if someone else had already claimed it. Another holdover, he laughed to himself as he tried to ignore the bump of the survival kit against his back with each step. Then again, from what he had read in the weird already written in journal, people were setting up claims pretty willy-nilly; it probably wouldn't be a big deal if he tried to claim that tower in the name of the Embryon...even if he was the only member of that tribe currently hanging around.

Even with that decision tentatively made, Cielo continued to idly walk the streets of this new town. New found curiosity drove him to see all that he could of the place as soon as possible while restlessness made it impossible for him to even begin to think of trying to go sleep. It probably also didn't hurt that he had read something of wild beasts in the woods surrounding the area and a little hunt never did hurt anything.
