Day 19: 8:30 AM
Who: Illyana Rasputin, aged 6 and OTA
Where: Near the pharmacy
When: Day 19, 8:30AM
Rating: G-PG
It was a lot colder in her room than Illyana was used to. She opened her eyes and reached for her blanket, but blinked in surprise. She wasn't in her room in Belasco's palace. She was curled up near a tree. But, there were no trees in Limbo. Nothing grew there. She sat up, looking around at the trees and the road she could see not too far away. Then, she looked down. She wasn't wearing the white dress Belasco had given her either. She was wearing jeans and a shirt with no sleeves.
Illyana grinned suddenly. Maybe Piotr had saved her when she was asleep! She jumped to her feet, certain in the way only children were of what had happened. Her big brother had saved her, and had tucked her away here while he stopped that mean Belasco once and for all, just like he and his friends had done to the lady who'd put her in the scary maze. He must be somewhere nearby, and if he wasn't, she was sure the big house that nice Mr. Xavier let her stay in was just up the road.
Once she'd decided that, Illyana ran for the road as fast as she could, and followed it all the way into a little town. She didn't even notice that it was more than a little run-down. It was a town. Not Limbo. "Piotr! Piotr Nicoleivitch! Where are you?" she shouted, running up and down the streets. "Piotr! Big brother!" But, as Piotr failed to appear, her smile began to falter. "Piotr Nicoleivitch!" she called again, now noticing that the streets didn't have lots of people on them, and that the glass was missing from some of the windows. "Piotr?" she said, much more quietly. "Katya?" Maybe Kitty Pryde would hear her if Piotr did not.
As the minutes passed and neither her brother or her favorite friend came to greet her, Illyana grew scared. Maybe it was still Limbo, and maybe this was one of Belasco's tricks. Maybe he was pretending she could go home, so he could do the scary thing and take more of her soul for his necklace. She sat down in front of one of the buildings, resting her chin on her knees, and began to cry.
