New Player, New Character!
... and what a time to join! Haha. Well, I'm Alice, and I'm super-excited to hop into the game, and bring you Mitsuru Kirijo from Persona 3. It's one (the fourth, actually! oh, what silly numbering systems) in a series of urban fantasy/horror games from Shin Megami Tensei, which, if you're not familiar with it, is all about teenagers going to school, fighting monsters in the off-hours, and oh, yeah, trying to prevent the end of the world.

Mitsuru is a rich girl - her father's company owns pretty much the entire city - who's spent about ten years of her life as an experimental subject/Shadow fighter, and just nearly averted an apocalypse during her senior year of High School. She also managed to be valedictorian... somehow. She's intelligent and diligent like that; she's just also completely lost when interacting with people in non-professional ways. If you want more detail, it's in her bio; I'm sorry in advance for all the game spoilers >----->.

	Wooo, thanks. I don't know much about Sid or Andy (haven't watched Skins, and have only seen Supernatural when my roommates are watching random episodes), so I'm not sure how Mitsuru would interact with them... Other than, er, cordially. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

I am a HUGE fan of the Persona games, and Mitsuru is my favorite character from the series. Welcome, and many warm wishes!

My name is Hope, and I play Laura Moon from Neil Gaiman's American Gods and Tinkerbell from J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan lore. :) If you'd ever like to play or plot, let me know. Tink, especially, could use a beautiful, snobby, rich friend...especially since she's been squashed like a bug by a rock.

Woo, thanks! Tink and Mitsuru would be excellent - especially since a great part of the point of P3 (and P4, too) seems to be "man, adults kind of stink". And I love Peter Pan - I actually just wrote a senior thesis using some material from the novel; which canon does she come from? Novel, film(s), stage play, some kind of combination?

... and man I need to finish American Gods, it's on my post-college shelf.

I, too, love Peter Pan and have done a whole bunch of thesis work with it (though not senior thesis yet). Tink here is sort of a mashup of the novel and the films, though her memories only extend past the novel. I took her from after Peter had forgotten about her and she went off to pass away.

I think we should definitely plot for Mitsuru and Tink, even though she's very under the weather.

	Well, being squashed will do that to you. Especially if you're tiny. But maybe once she's feeling a little better? I also don't know exactly what Mitsuru will be doing when she first arrives (or where she'll be), so perhaps it's best to plan a bit later? (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Gambit, sweet! Although, I admit that, while I love X-Men, I've actually read a rather small amount of it (Grant Morrison's run on New X-Men and Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men, plus a few special series, to be precise, but if you've gotta pick one, well, Joss rocks).

As for Persona 3, oh-my-god-it-is-so-awesome... and traumatizing. I mean, the iconic image from the game is "teenagers shooting themselves in the head to do summoning magic". And then the makers decided to turn up the trauma-crank another 50% or so.

Here's the original game opening, if you're curious - full of guns, French, and Latin.

	OMG That's hot. :O So, like it's a video game? Or is it an anime? Or is it an anime where it's a game, like oh-my-god I can't ever remember the name. 	It's a video game with several animated cutscenes -- I think there's a spin-off manga and maybe even an OVA of some kind, but the primary product is the game. It's basically the fusion of a Final Fantasy-style RPG (level grind, level grind, level grind, BOSS! & lather, rinse, repeat) and a dating sim. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	I feel completely the opposite of guilty. These games are so worth not sleeping -- losing sleep for Persona 4 is kind of my usual occupation right now, as it happens. And it's so worth it! (Reply to this) (Parent)

	I love that you have Jenny Schecter in this game - I was obsessed with The L Word for a while, way back when, and Jenny + Survival/Horror is kind of awesome. (And, having looked at the Insider stuff, gaaaaahh your icons will give me nightmares. Good job.)
