Three against two. How was that fair again? At least Wren wasn't nursing any bruised ribs this time around, so she'd have a bit more of an edge in this fight. Her hazel eyes met with the younger woman's darker ones and she jerked her head back slightly, conveying to her that they needed to go deeper into the park. They needed more room, plus they needed to get the vampires as far away from the stragglers as humanly possible. Kitty nodded quickly and they both turned on their heel and ran straight back down Main Street, U.S.A., heading for the Town Square.
Both Noir and Shadowcat ran up one of the short flights that led up to the Gazebo and turned their backs toward each other's, makeshift stakes at the ready. The three vampires were already hopping over the railings, fangs glinting in the artificial light that was being cast by the lamp posts lining the street.
"You two ladies smell good enough to eat," one of the commented, a wicked smile turning at his crimson-stained lips. He had clearly enjoyed a late snack already.
"I guess this is the lame witty repartee part of the fight," Kitty said dryly. "You rally couldn't think of something wittier to say? 'You ladies look good enough to eat'? C'mon." The slightly taller brunette rolled her eyes then. The same 'lame' vampire snarled and ran at Shadowcat, who promptly phased right through him and turned around quickly (solidifying again) to stake the undead man right through his back, aiming for where his unbeating heart was. His countenance had barely had enough time to elicit a look of surprise before he went 'dusty'.
One down. Two to go.
By this time, Wren was already fisticuffs with her own vampire. No longer suffering from the injuries she'd had inflicted upon her during her last confrontation with a vampire, she was finally able to hold her own against one. She dodged a few melee attacks and had, in fact, flipped herself over the railing and back down to the pavement, where she met the third bloodsucker.
He'd tried to grab her and she ducked down, and swept her own leg under his feet, knocking him down to the ground. She bounced herself back up onto her feet again and moved quickly over him, using all of the strength she could muster to stab him through the chest. In a matter of seconds, he was nothing but a pile of dust beneath her heels. She'd made an extra effort to trade over them before moving onto the next one.... only, where was the next one?
Clearly perplexed, she glanced over to the phaser. "Kitty.... where'd the other one go?"
"I dunno.... he was there one second and now," Shadowcat trailed off, he was gone.
"I think we'd better get back to Juliya."
