In your final moments what is it you long for most? The the one you love to finally chose you? To finally know answers? To save the one you love? No one ever thinks about that moment but for the few who knew their time was running out in Mystic Falls, they were faced with that critical time.
Caroline Forbes was faced with knowing that the guy that she loved was minutes away from dieing alone as she raced out of harm's way. Not only was she heartbroken, but she herself was on the verge of death..
Damon Salvatore was faced with knowing that despite everything Elena had chosen Stefan once again..and was met by Alaric who just wanted to destroy him. Friendship was stronger than magic it seemed because Damon chose not to fight, he was slowly giving up until something went horribly wrong..
Stefan Salvatore was faced with knowing he couldn't say good-bye to his brother in person, unclear of how Elena felt he figured the girl he loved would race off into the night to his older brother knowing she loved Damon just as much as she loved him. Things don't always go the way you think they will, and now he was faced with the choice of saving his love or his friend.
