Today is Memorial Day back home, which I don't really feel qualified to speak on (take it away, Steve). But I looked it up, and it's also Put A Pillow On Your Fridge Day in the U.S., which is supposed to bring you prosperity and good fortune.

I'm not upset, I just want to discuss this.

We've been home for a couple of weeks now and it feels like I'm finally settling back into my normal routines which I know my very particular child is happy about. There was a lot to process and unpack about our brief trip to that future, but the one takeaway that's stuck with me is that there's too little time to spend it stuck in the future--or the past. Which feels a bit too introspective for this early on a Friday morning, honestly, but here we are. Serving up a bit of gratitude for the present alongside fresh chocolate croissants this morning.

So here's my Friday morning question to the rest of my fellow Outlanders: Besides the obvious choice of indoor plumbing, what are you glad for here that you don't have where you came from?

As much as I love the slow pitch game and an extra excuse to drink on a weeknight, I've got some excess energy to burn today. The skin-crawling restlessness has been hitting me hard, and I'm guessing I'm not the only one who could stand to blow off some steam.

How many supers or enhanceds out there are up for a Clash of the Titans-style baseball game tonight? Full strength, liberal use of powers (not against each other, but in the pursuit of the ball), no holding back.

Kamala, Rogers Sr. and Jr., Kratos, Stark, consider yourselves drafted.

EDIT: Come by to the Avengers Compound grounds [coordinates] any time tonight between 6-7pm. Spectators welcome, food and drinks provided. Teams will be picked then and there, as soon we get a final player total.

Okay, they're probably not demon babies, I'm guessing cupids because ~it's the season~, but they still have some serious attitude! They also did something to the handle and the hinges because we should have been able to get out by now. No offense to our new home, Starks, but this guy and I collectively have some great breaking and exiting skills.

I was waiting in line for coffee and then I just felt the need to share how much I love Prue Halliwell. I love her so much it's almost terrifying with my ability to screw up my relationships but she's amazing. Absolutely amazing.


I also love this coffee. The pixie is so grumpy but so great at what she does and it's entertaining exchanging remarks with her in the morning. I love this coffee a lot. Like goddamn it is good this morning.

Well, judging from the network scrolling I've done, I'm not sure a week is enough time to consider myself "acclimated" to Vallo. But it probably is enough time before I introduce myself.

Hey, Outlanders - Bobbi Morse. Just signed myself up for Defense Team A with the DOA this morning. (Captain Rogers, I hear that means we're working together again. Looking forward to it.) Gotten myself about a dozen bagels from Glenn since I've been here, a couple of new-arrival free drinks from the various bars, and heard some rave reviews about an Italian restaurant in "the Void"? Haven't tracked that down yet, but I will.

Any other suggestions for Vallo musts I should add to the to-do list?

Some of you types more sensitive to the coming and goings of the world may have felt something a bit off this morning when you rose. Moreso than usual I would suppose. It would seem Vallo has expanded its collection of Hells to include my domain.

And before you ask, no I did not ask for or summon it here. I'm sure some of you nerds enjoy bringing your work home with you but have you seen that throne? I'm lucky not to have a flat arse after all these centuries.

Right. I would advise any of you feeling guilt over that muffin you cheated with this morning to stuff it in the bag with the discarded wrappings and dispose of the lot. Also keep an eye on dead bodies...except vampires and zombies. I think. I suppose they are fairly similar concepts to demons possessing the dead...

In other words, please do not poke the Hell if you can help it and should you need any assistance with its presence causing issue, myself or Rory would be best to ask.

Perhaps I should have asked before volunteering but knowing this lot and their penchant for wining, dining, and trying to mount trouble, I will need all the help I can get with someone familiar with the place.

Hello everyone. For those who don't know me, I'm Steve Rogers. And as strange as it feels to say this, we're coming up on my third Christmas in Vallo. It's my personal favorite time of year, and I mean that as a season and not any particular holiday. Even where I'm from, there's so many different reasons to celebrate in December, much less adding in more dimensions, worlds, galaxies, and universes. The best I can hope for is that we all find at least one reason to spread joy and love to those we care for and maybe, just maybe, our community as a whole.

I'd welcome anyone who is throwing general parties this year to share the details here, so they're in one place for anyone to find and plan around. I half suspect Sam will be offering up his place again either for Christmas or New Year's, but I can't in good conscience volunteer him. A little public pressure is okay, though.

And finally, I'll be spending afternoons from today until the 23rd as Santa in Starcourt Mall. Bring your kids, pets, or even yourselves if you want a photo and ask for gifts this year. I'll do my best to relay those requests to the right people to make it happen, if I can.
