Moving on.

I am glad that the holidays and mushrooms are done; they were nearly as distracting as students. I am working on a new project, but it is not ready yet for public unveiling. It is taking up a lot of my time? Sleep is, well, it is something that sometimes happens and sometimes not. But I have been hydrating Mel and Jayce, I promise, and I have been exercising Blitzcrank, Diego. So see, this is very healthy. I'm proud of all of us.

It is difficult to believe, but I have been here in Vallo a year now. I didn't think I'd li Is it disloyal of me to say... it feels like home? I suppose I have always been disloyal as such. I left the undercity in pursuit of an education I could only get in Piltover, and while I never felt truly comfortable there, it was familiar to me. And it offered me much. But... here, at least, I feel as if I can do more with my ambition. It is less... reactionary? And of course meeting others from other worlds has only broadened my own perspective.

Anyhow. It is a good anniversary to have. A whole year!

This world is already better about getting people the treatment and aids they need than in my world. But, there's always room for improvement. I'm working with Enki and Vallo's local general hospital to develop an advanced line of assistive technology and disability aids for people that need them, at no cost to the user.

We're still in early development, but we'd like to chat with users with specific needs that are met through assistive technology or mobility aids. We're focusing on walking aids that function both in the city and the forest, advanced hearing devices that automatically volume adjust given the noise level of the area around you, retracting hooks for reaching things higher up but minimally invasive at the same time, and adaptive touch screens that can translate text to braille and shift and change like you would just turning a page on a book or scrolling through social media.

Basically, our main goal here is accessibility and advancement. They told me to use an ice brea If you could think of any one thing that would make your life easier and it doesn't already exists or is something that could be improved, what would it be?

My sister's gone, but I woke up with one of those slabs from the murderworld. Does Vallo think this is a fair trade? Don't get me wrong, I like being able to punch things even better than before, but I was kind of getting used to being a big sister again. Guessing this is the day everything goes back to 'normal' for everyone. I think I finally get what the word bittersweet is supposed to mean. Maybe it's good timing for the slab, because I actually do want to hit something today.

The Enchanted Nook will be having a Halloween event on the day of. There will be candy and treats and toys, along with book giveaways, prizes for costumes, and spooky* group readings.

*Matthew is doing at least some of the readings so I do not forsee them being too scary for young children.

And uh, in other news our Monster (S)mash display at Chastity's is being regularly restocked as it has been selling much better than I anticipated. We do not judge.

I can't say that I'm much better at trash talk than Vik is, but I can say that we'll let our work do the talking for us, this car is pretty impressive given we built it from scratch just starting a few weeks ago and had to pause of uh- monster attacks.

Speaking of which, I've had good feedback on the generators and shields deployed at the hospitals and clinics, especially as of late. They managed to keep the lights on through most of the blackouts and the hospitals sustained minimal damage only, so I'm looking into the funding for mass-producing them for more buildings in the city. I've got some interest, so expect to see some development on that in the coming months if it's something your business or home might be interested in.

I had an idea I wanted to run by you about the Hexcore.

The car is progressing. After reviewing the race rules, I've tweaked the hover system so it is an option, but not the main mode of transportation. Vertical propulsion is now available if you reroute throttle from engine a to engine b; it is... a bit... what's the word? Finicky though. It needs improvement. Kicking helps.

Also, it seems that projectiles are viable but generally frowned upon in this race, so I made some structural changes to the sidecar and now Jayce has more foot room. (I hid the projectiles. We may need them yet.) Jayce's work on the engines is revolutionary; they roar. I would shudder to think of any such contraption on the roads of Piltover, but for such a thing as this? Excellent. We will terrify children.

I think we'll need to test it later this week, once we are certain that the prototype crash system is functional. Should we test the brakes? Is that backwards-thinking? We are intending to accelerate, not stop, but perhaps we may wish to avoid an obstacle in our path? Limited use for brakes. Hmm.

Oh wait, yes, Jayce says we'll be testing the brakes. I will add it to the list.

OK this is not where I was expecting to end up and orientation is a bit of a joke. It's an info dump that ends with someone handing you some money and telling you where you can stay. I guess that's better than leaving you on the street to figure it out yourself.

I like to think I'm pretty easy to please. You think Vallo could throw some monsters at us that, hear me out, are good at being punched? Or shot, I'm okay with giving Caitlyn something to do, too. Too much "oh it requires magic" or "basically a god" or "good luck if you're a normal human" shit running around.

With Elsa's departure, The Art of Expression is once again in need of a Director of Youth Programs.

This position includes the management of arts activities for young people between the ages of 5 and 18, including Art Camps, classes, and events, as well as facilitating mentorships/apprenticeships in the local artistic community. The work involves more management than it does direct teaching, so while experience with art is preferred, it is not so necessary as experience managing children.

Thanks to the efforts of Mr. Briar Moss, I'm pleased to say that we'll be opening the Sutton Cottage gardens to the general public this weekend. I've modified the warding somewhat so it will not be active during business hours. It serves very little purpose here in Vallo as it is, and warding against those who possess magic seems to rather defeat the purpose of a public garden when half the population seems to have magic.

Visiting the gardens and the hedge maze is free, but do consider making a donation when you visit to help support the maintenance of the gardens.

So. We get kidnapped and have no way of getting home and no way of bringing people here either.
