IC: PEPPER & TORUNN.
It took a lot to pull off a surprise event right under Pepper's nose, even with clever people involved, so she was just as impressed as she was touched by the engagement party. Pepper would have been happy without anything more than casual celebration with her family, but she didn't hesitate for a second in enjoying this party immensely. There was no shame in enjoying this kind of limelight, after all.
Spotting Torunn again, finally, after the initial embraces and gratitude, Pepper excused herself from a small knot of people and made her way over to where her daughter was performing the hostess balancing act. Not just performing it, either, but nailing it. Pepper was touched and impressed by the party, but even more than that, she was proud of them for all it meant, from having friends to gather to help them, even after multiple worlds had made them jaded, to not hesitating to celebrate this openly and happily, when it would be so easy to treat good things like something they all should hold their breath around for fear of provoking the multiverse.
"You. C'mere," she said, tugging on Torunn's elbow to move them to the edges of the party.
