She's right. And the simpler it is, the more true that is. The stuff that's mostly about precision and exactly following a recipe? I could knock that outta the park from day one, because if there's one thing a science guy can do, it's be meticulous. But the things that require a sense of what's right, those took me years to get right - and I still wouldn't say I've mastered a lot of that. It'll be another thirty years before I can braise a fish like my grandfather does.
