Eddie didn't even look back at it, when he got up. He nodded his agreement and walked to Dan and then to the door, and then back into the hall. (And maybe, yeah, the thought of a million action movies when the hero walked away from an explosion without looking back did pop into his head.)
But of course there was no explosion.
Eddie was back in the hospital in his head, nothing out of place. Clean and orderly, with doors and memories and yeah, that one place he didn't want to go in, but even that felt a little less scary when he walked by it again.
He could even hear voices coming from inside it. "Ten minutes each was the rule!" and "I don't see any sign!" and Eddie even smiled a little on his way past it.
Thank you, he thought to Dan, just about every step of the way.
