"No, never," Dan promised; he meant what he said. "Anything you want to talk about or anything I happen to see, whatever it is - it's just between us." He'd definitely refer Eddie to one of the local Vallo therapists, but anytime he wanted to talk to Dan he'd be around for that too. It helped to have a solid support system anyway, especially while in therapy.
Then he concentrated, forging a connection - surface thoughts, he grasped those quickly, they pulsed in between his psychic fingers. Now it was a matter of diving in deeper, but he didn't want to go too fast. It was like easing into a pool of water, sort of, his hand was pushing in first, then his arm - slowly. He was halfway in Eddie's mind and halfway out, his line of sight and what he could hear still in the exam room.
