The tourniquet was applied to Eddie's arm, and Dan had him make a fist - he liked to think that by now he was pretty good at hitting the vein and drawing blood on the first try. It wasn't often he needed a second go at it - but he'd been in the field of medicine for awhile and he was efficient; the alcohol wipe applied to the area, then when he had a sense for it he drew the blood. Needle inserted properly, the blood rushed to the catheter - then just like that it was over, wrap bandage applied, everything disposed of and the tube would go to the lab for the doctor to look at.
Presumably Eddie wouldn't have anything weird crawling around in there in terms of cells, but just to be sure. It was part of the checkup.
"Alright, now just try to get comfy on the table here. If you need anything extra - something to drink, or a better pillow or blanket, just let me know," Dan offered. His plan was to eeeeease in; the psychic landscape was delicate, and rushing in with a mental battering ram wouldn't do any good.
