Get drunk? Sounded like an excellent idea to her. Alexis reached for the bottle again, leeeeeaning over to top off David's glass once more. It was fine, they didn't have to be anywhere - and she'd provide hangover remedies tomorrow morning when his head was pounding (they even had products for it at the store, see, everybody wins!).
"Actually, like - we're still there?" she tried to explain. "There's a version of you home, and one here. And I'm still home and also here - two places at once. So if anyone else from home showed up, it'd be like we never even left." And yes, she realized that was completely insane - and difficult to wrap one's mind around - but it was the truth.
Just don't ask her to give too many details about how it worked. Maybe one of the people who had been to multiple universes and constantly fell through portals to alternate dimensions would be able to. "So it's totally fine - just get drunk, that's all you can do," she insisted. As for the weird stuff...
Brace yourself.
"Um - there were dinosaurs that escaped from their island and ended up here?" Alexis twirled a wavy strand of spun gold hair around her finger, and then it boing back up. "Also goblins, angry bunnies, and skeletons. People got aged up to be older or aged down and some were kids, for like, a week. There are usually monsters in the woods but there's a bunch of teams that handle those. There's been a creepy hotel that appeared in the cliffs and made people see their worst fears. Just...you know. Stuff like that."
