"Like what kind of weird stuff?" David asked, because it was probably better that he hear about some of it first. Like a vaccine, get just enough of the weirdness into his system to immunize himself against it. That was a thing that would totally work, right?
He leaned back into the couch, arranging himself and his sweater and his legs carefully, distracting himself with it as he tried not to think about weirdness and everything they'd left behind.
"So you go missing in the future? Or I went missing in your past? Wait, but if things get serious with Patrick in my future then I'm still there, after I'm... here?" David knew that made a very shaky kind of sense. He pressed his lips together for a second and shook his head. "You know what, nevermind, I'm going to get too drunk to understand and that is a life choice that I am making."
